No Whammie, No Whammie, No Whammie...
As much as I agree that MS will come out with a new console, everyone has to admit that a lot of signs point to the fact that they may not. I really cannot understand how they can continue to lose or close anymore studios (sh!t, they basically only have Rare left as first party) and have new, compelling and, obviously, exclusive IPs.
Sure Halo and Gears sell, but how far can they take a company? Without first or second party support, the majority of "720" customers ...
Why is there a cord attached to it in the picture? Please tell me this is cordless (no I didn't read the article, it looked boring as sh!t)!
"i guess you're probably new to n4g. anything that is interpreted as a "threat" to a ps3 exclusive is immediately flamed. people here dont play games but rather game companies (or try to justify their $500 or $600 purchase)."
@briguy:
I don't really think anyone is too worried about this perceived threat that you seemed to have picked up on. I don't have a problem with him doing a review or even mentioning MS in it (if he had). I have a problem with...
Damn ErcsYou, you must of been playing the hell out of it. I can't blame you since the game rocked and there wasn't much else out at the time. I don't think I ever did get all the tickets and I played MS a ton.
@ErcsYou: LOL. MS did kick my ass too. That's why I never did finish it. That last ticket was the one that did me in. I liked MS so much that I d/l'd everything that came out for it. Play hard, baby, hell yeah...
Bubbles back at ya...
Why involve Motorstorm when you are "reviewing" the game on a 360? It's like talking smack about somebody else who wasn't even there to defend themselves. It wasn't necessary and I regret clicking the link to give you one more hit...
BTW, I played the Pure demo and it was nice, no Motorstorm (can't speak for Pacific Rift, yet) nor Motorstorm demo, but it was decent. Definitely not worth $60 for basically one vehicle compared to MS or Dirt.
<stands and applauds>
Jeez, if I could only get back the countless time wasted reading drivel...this one was especially bad.
Plus EoJ is worth that much alone, not to mention getting the Eye with it.
Isn't this the same game that the devs claimed would put PS3/360 graphics to shame? Hope this game doesn't suck since the hype train is in full throttle. (Yes, I own a Wii and really do hope this game doesn't suck!)
I kind of see where you are coming from ChampIDC, but I still think that the industry needs developers who take chances and don't worry about metacritic scores or how much money the game is going to make. We've got enough developers who do those things already.
Devs should just try to make the best game possible and the scores/money will more than likely follow. Keep spitting out the same formulaic crap like Hollywood and watch your industry slowly die...
Thanks, cheapndirty. That story really applies to the large number of people who are moving to the current gen of consoles.
/sarcasm
enjoi187 you crack me up. I just had this exact conversation at a GameCrazy (oops, a competitor) after it was reported that the PS2 is only 100K behind the 360 in sales this year. 100K for an eight year old system? People are still buying the PS2 and most of them will graduate to the PS3 at some point. That is what Sony is betting on and I presume they know what they're doing since they have a track record with consoles. Have you ever wondered why they continue to support the PS2? Cause...
Not only is this old news, but isn't the bottom picture on the original story from RFOM2? Looks like some concept art or low res of the Chicago level. Besides somebody on that blog stating that the first picture was concept art from a totally different game.
Comment from poser...er, I mean poster on linked website:
"sounds like a great way to void the warranty..."
Why do people still think that swapping the h/d out of a PS3 is going to void the warranty?!? It's in the damned manual no less. Swapping out your h/d will not void the warranty. Sometimes I wonder if people are really that "uninformed" or just out to spread some FUD...
It's too bad you would use your one comment to write something so uninformed, but I guess that's probably why you only have one bubble left.
20K in Japan first day for Afrika is obviously a good thing...
That was initially what I read a long while back. I also recall their stance was no NA/EU release as of "now" (months ago), not that it was never going to happen. I read recently (can't remember where, maybe PS3Fanboy) that there is a possibility that they will localize it.
DAMN YOU ADAMALICIOUS! :P
Thanks and good catch... bubbles...
I have to admit that I'm actually looking forward to this game getting released in NA. There have been hints that it will be, but has anyone seen anything official on it?
The release date move to 21 Oct in NA is OLD news. They changed the date over a month ago.
Just send the wife to bed early, that's what I'll be doing!
This will be my first Disgaea, but they've always come highly recommended and I love SRPGs. 'Bout time PS3 got some RPG love in some shape or another. I also like that this is "value priced" since it's $50 vs. the normal a$$ jamming $60 we've come to know all too well.
@FantasyStar:
I had actually been meaning to try out the last one on PS2, but found out that they were developing this ...
I've read the same thing in plenty of spaces (no pun intended). The problem is this is Valve we are talking about. Sure other studios in EA have begun to figure out the PS3 architecture, but Valve seem thrilled to sit back on their fat rumps and just spit out stuff that will only run on PCs and 360s.
They didn't have anything to do with the Half-Life port and have shown little to no initiative to learn the PS3 hardware. They'll regret it eventually. EA has already said that t...
