Superman 64 could be your favorite game in the world but that doesn't mean everyone else likes it. Look at the opposite spectrum. If one review of Superman 64 was a 10 what would you think? Would it change your opinion, would you rethink your purchasing decision? Maybe if you were a Superman fan (though probrably not). The reviewer could argue that other people have the game wrong and your not "playing" it right. Reviews are relative to the person playing it. This is the reason why ...

Why do you care so much? Do you own stock in Sony? The only think I'm concerned about in the sales figures (pertaining to MGS4) is how many people I'll be able to frag. Dude, its just a console.

Ads are the main deterrent. If your paying $25 a year (3 dollars an issue) you should be able to skip ads... just as easily as your able to flip the page in a magazine. Who are they fooling? Featuring games within the "magazine" is advertisement enough. Personally, the only thing that had me thinking about a purchase was the included free PSN download of Calling All Cars. Otherwise, I'll put $5 down for early access to Socom: Confrontation while Qore subscribers have to wait 2 weeks...

I've already completed Metal Gear Solid, and am working on Metal Gear Solid 2. I understood that the third was also the "first." I decided it would be hard for me to go from MGS3 to the first. I enjoyed every second playing through MGS but was told the third was also the best (not including MGS4). I hope I'm still able to get everything. Might check out Wikipedia once I'm finally able to get to MGS4:-) Of the first three, which is the best?

I have the game too and have only play MGO. Have to finish the other two...On topic: I don't believe the Xbox 360 is being left behind. It needs a price drop and M-soft is trying to get as many sales as they can at a higher price point. This fall, there will be a price drop because 360 sales are too soft. Still, considering that the 360 is too expensive it is able still to compete with PS3. I wouldn't call 20,000 unit difference leaving one or another behind. The sales figures have been back ...

Bought MGS4 the other day and have only played MGO. I want to play the game so bad...but I have to get through the other two. Don't want to ruin the magic of the others. Metal Gear Solid: The Essential Collection was a very good purchase to bring me up to stuff in the series.

Never had a problem with it. What is the big deal? Are we so rushed and pressed for time, we can't afford 8 minutes wait? The people who make a deal of it have never gamed on the PC, even casually. Perhaps that statement is a broad generalization but seriously. Eat a sandwich or take a $hit if you can't stand installing the game. People reported the installation of MGS4 because it IS funny and atypical of what you usually experience. We don't need install time stories anymore guys/girls....pl...

Not dissing or anything, but...I'm pretty sure I could buy cigarettes at 18. Bought a pack a lottery ticket few years ago just because I could finally. Happy to say I don't smoke:-) I hope my recent infatuation with Metal Gear doesn't change that, lol.

Namely, employees that don't work in the videogames/electronics section. If you don't follow games, who is to say you know anything about the release date? While this isn't an excuse for early sale of MGS4, it is hard to place the blame on Walmart, or even the "offending" employees. I would go so far as to say its the gamers fault. I guarantee the game wasn't on display and some deceitful words were used to obtain it. Purchased MGS4 at Meijer an hour ago:-)If you've never heard of t...

And won't be for quite some time. Ready at Dawn moving to develop for next-gen consoles? Just part of the business; not a omen of bad things to come. I currently have too many games for the psp to get through. E3 should bring about new announcements and prove otherwise.

Is a bad day indeed. EA has always been about monopoly control. They buy exclusivity in sports, buy the best game engines, and eat up all competition. Personally, I see this as a possibility. What is to stop them? Just like Nintendo, they wouldn't even need third-party support. I am sure we would hear from some industry insider if they were actually serious about it though.

I have Daxter, GOWCOO, and Okami Wii and wouldn't mind another AAA game. These guys/girls seem to know what their doing.

Which isn't bad at all. I don't see the "next gen" visuals that are claimed. Honestly, I don't care. If the devs can improve on the FPS controls MP3 and Medal of Honor: Heroes pioneered I'm in. Control wise I think the Wii-mote and nun chuck combo works excellent. Its a shame Resident Evil 5 wasn't announced for the Wii:-(

I come to n4g for news and insightful comments. If anyone has any opinion even remotely anti-ps3, there is a legion of fanboys to the rescue. Come to think of it, you have even less to add on account your support of this nonsense. I am a Sony fan, not a fanboy. There is a huge difference.

Can't say I've ever heard of it till now. Is it me or is there too many online game distribution sites now? GameTap, Steam, Directdownload, etc, are just a few. Room for more? I don't know.

I own both versions:

NG Sigma is 720p; it upscales to 1080p
NG II is 580P; it also upscales to 1080p

The resolution difference is noticeable between the two versions with Sigma having cleaner textures and overall brighter look. However, I am reluctant in saying Sigma looks better. I messed with the in game graphics settings and changed the brightness of NG II; making the brightness "sparkly" advantage of Sigma null. The advantage of resolution is also...

The way I see it is: Bethesda, and owner of the engine powering Oblivion, allowed a small time developer to create their game using similar assets. It isn't stealing, copying yes. When your small time, you have limited access to something called money. Copying levels is neither noble or original but a means for the little man to put out a half decent product without all the overhead.
