I recently purchased Killzone 1 so I could catch up on the lore. With that said, awesome that someone put together all the background info. If I recall most of the info came from killzone.com. Check it out if you want more.
It's been said b4...scary pic. Glad I don't have a crazy ex-gf...
I'm not sure whether to get the 64 bit version either. I have 32 bit XP. My machine specs are:
GM5088
AMD Athlon (tm) 64 X2 Dual
Core Processor 4600+
2.41 GHz, 1.87 GB of RAM
Also of note I have the Media Center Edition, ver 2002. I have never been a big PC gamer...with a decent graphics card could I get into the game?
Thanks guys/girls
Ditto on that. I take a couple hour break from refreshing every 5 minutes and missed the "window" it was open for download.
I love the look of the laptop (netbook?) but it is a little too pricey for me. I would snatch one up in a heart beat if it was a couple hundred less... Perhaps we should wait 6 months and see if demand is really as strong as Sony seems to think. Very impressive machine. Not so interested in upgrading so I'm not as concerned in that sense.
Lumbo...opinion doesn't count for fact. Regardless of your opinion of Windows, for all purposes of nomenclature, it is a beta. Judging from your comments its doesn't appear you would be interested in any Windows product anyway. Why bother?
On topic: 1 day before public beta
I don't think a beta can be an alpha at the same time...otherwise "we" the public probably wouldn't be previewing it. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the software is beta.
I don't mind paying. You get what you pay for and I wouldn't trade a free Xbox Live for one clogged with ads (there are enough already).
How about this scenario: The user in question either pirates their games or buys them ALL used. In this case, Microsoft doesn't see a dime in licensing fees. Everyone knows there are a large number of users that fit this description. If Microsoft is barely making even on the hardware, how do they make money period? Charge for a excellent online ...
I believe this game has great potential. Perhaps a name change is in order, however everything looks great. Based on the video and being in alpha I wonder if they will finish in 2010 rather than 09? A new ip would be better off releasing after the holiday avalanche of games. I am always amazed some games don't get the recognition they deserve. The Witcher: Rise of the White Wolf and Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena are both AAA games I'm extremely excited about yet, no one seems ...
A good article, speculative, but flawed. Why does everyone assume there is an extreme level of media bias against the PS3? You can give examples all day however that is biased in itself. That is not to say it doesn't exist, however its not pandemic. A better article might get into WHO individually is a fanboy on sites such as ign, 1up, gamespot, etc, etc. It is a goal in journalism to be objective. Reviews also "try" to adhere to this principle. Notice how reviews never have a &qu...
The FCC is evil. Censorship is somewhat necessary however no game should be banned. I'm not condoning adult rated games, however I would like to see the medium grow in maturity. Games like Heavy Rain use adult/mature themes to great effect. Only a few years ago I thought that I would outgrow games one day (far into the future). However, with the success of the Wii and games as culturally acceptable forms of entertainment (for all ages), I'm not as pessimistic. After all...I'm only a twenty so...
Can't wait for this game. Seems like the colors are much richer and saturated. Very good. It was definitely a good move to release Killzone 2 ahead of the holiday rush. With zero games in sight for the next month and a half, everyone with a PS3 needs to snatch this up new. Some people might cry about split screen support, however I think it will get patched later. Even if it doesn't split screen is dying as a requested feature; replaced by online co-op. After Resistance 2 failed to wow me, I'...
I've had quite a few EGM mags and subscriptions throughout the years...its really too bad to see them close shop. I hope 1 up is able to function like they used to, although thats being optimistic with all the layoffs. I try to look at the bright side...fewer trees cut down...:-p
Personally, I think Sony 1 up'd the 360 special edition. Two controllers would probably have me sold. Also, got to love the Biohazard laser etching. Of course, difference in bundles doesn't mean anything to Western gamers. Japanese gamers get pampered by Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft...not fair!
I would try it but then again I would be violating the terms of service. Wouldn't want to get booted/suspended. Just saying...
I really want to like HOME but it doesn't appeal to me yet and none of my friends use it. I see potential for sure, but at the moment its a hot spot for perverts and mini-games. Integrate more games and then we might see what HOME is all about. I wouldn't mind if HOME was scaled back; in its current incarnation its too complex. I could do without loading screens and installing new areas every time I start it up.
I enjoyed the first installment of Lost Winds, but don't think I will purchase the sequel. Overall, you have to wonder if games on WiiWare sell very well... Definitely not on the same level as LIVE arcade and PSN. Personally, I'd like to see some stats to back up my suspicions. There are only a handful of games that are remotely worth getting. So far I have Lost Winds, World of Goo, and that castle defense game (can't remember the name). I would like a sequel to World of Goo.
The article is not typical flamebait. With all the cuts coming from everyone within the industry (aside from Nintendo) it is naive to think Sony would not be effected. Microsoft for example is slashing its workforce and continually has made cost cutting measures. Most recently I purchased a 360 arcade for a gift...to myself...and acquired a Jasper 360. I was surprised when the package didn't include the 256 MB memory card that traditionally came with arcade consoles. Afterwards, I discovered ...
Laughing at owners of the 360 version? Very mature of you I might add. Too bad the mod doesn't look very good or anything like Resident Evil 2. You can keep your mods as most are buggy messes. Also, I did not pay $10 to $20 dollars more. $44 on Amazon. Eat it.
Who wants a monopoly? Not me. If this comes to fruition... very bad for the gaming industry. The only way I could see this happening is if Disney buys them out. Otherwise, I don't think EA has the financial clout to enter the console market.
