Why Tuesday? Because Mondays are no fun. For most people the start of the work day and/or school day :-p lol. Also, Office Space taught us that Mondays = Evil. Tuesday by virtue of coming after Monday is "the" best day to unveil ANYTHING! :-)
On a more serious note- good observation. Perhaps Opera's is trying to beat Google and company to the punch in cloud computing. As long as its free, I'm willing to try it.
I can't argue which series is better yet, just purchased FF VII. I purchased the Metal Gear Solid Collection to catch up on MG b4 MGS4. I'm amazed how well MGS holds up to this day.
I have similar expectations for FF VII. Its great that late comers to the franchise only have to shell out $10. Too good to pass up.
I can see your point, however, we live in an age of instant gratification. The fact is that the iphone 3Gs is still most importantly a phone. Gaming is a novelty when you have to worry about battery life. As mentioned above, I see the new CPU being a much better fit for the iPod Touch.
If this proves to be true, I have another reason to get a PSP Go. The handheld is priced a little high but overall oozes with quality and charm. Little Big Planet, MG:Rising, and Grand Turismo PSP should be awesome :-)
I like lens of truth for being objective...however they have the worst servers. Every time one of their articles hits n4g, it takes minutes to load if at all. Boo.
Fight Night Round 4 looks great though.
Anyone get the beta from a Qore subscription? The past few Qore freebies, the download codes were sent out via email rather than accessible through the download section.I wasn't sure if they sent the codes out or I have to re-download a past episode. :-p
Awesome the devs keep updating the beta.
"Every game is converted to the same 100 point scale using the same conversion system so it is an even playing field."
Wrong. Metacritic uses a weighted average and is inconsistent.
Infamous and Red Faction each earned a 1up A- yet Metacritic gave both games a 91%
Prototype and Virtual On earned a 1 up B- yet Metacritic gave a 67% for both.
In other words Metacritic weights "B's" more harshly than "A's". An A- s...
The math doesn't make sense. Metacritic weights everything according to how they see fit. See my example @ 5.2. The process seems to be very biased and unprofessional. They also assign numerical scores from reviews that don't explicitly give one.
Try gamerankings.com. They seem to be more consistent. A B- on gamerankings equals a 75%. A much better score than metacritics 66%. The game is sitting at 88% on gr and 86% on metacritic currently.
It's curious how there is so much discrepancy between the two scores. How can one reviewer say its great and another decent? The visuals especially are a point of contention. There is so much discordance between IGN US's score and the rest of metacritic, I wonder if the reviewer hated the game and reflected that in the review. Currently the game is resting at 91% on metacritic for PS3 (sans US PS3 score). Fishy? I think so.
Also, the IGN AU review was much more indicative of wha...
No one is going to pay more than $10 for any iPhone game regardless of quality. The reason iPhone games will never be on par with PSP is because the budget for these titles is so much smaller. iPhone games sell by virtue of quality AND price. Rolando is a perfect example of this and its only $5.99. I would say the sweet spot for PSP sits at around $20. Patapon 1 or 2 are good examples.
Bubble up. The Wii is a dissapointment. I use mine almost exclusively for Virtua Console games. Not sure why people disagreed with you :-p They don't support their games (sans Mario Kart) and thats a fact. They never even patched Brawl...its still broken and your lucky to have anyone join your match. The only way I was able to connect was (somehow) joining a game with a friend. This process is further confounded by friend codes and lack "social connectivity." Thanks Nintendo.
I'm really looking forward to the game as I'm confident it will get team combat right. I agree, Socom and Warhawk fans will be at home in MAG. The chain of command aspect is simple but intuitive- players with more experience will get leadership. I hope the game gives players incentive to "follow orders" outside of punishment and/or booting the player. The developers never spoke about medals or other rewards for winning. I'm sure there is plenty more to discover.
I just hope the game doesn't go too over the top. Its not science fiction so it should maintain a little realism. The story for MW was pretty good and believable at its best parts. Perhaps the dev has a point though; we play games to have fun. We might appreciate a sim realism in our racing games but shooters don't need to fully explore the horrors of war...right? :-p
I remember watching the feature presentation on Qore and thinking the game wasn't going to be that good. Sometimes you just know...weird. I feel bad for the reviewers; they had to play the stinker. Where does a game go so wrong? I'm guessing we won't ever get a demo...
Sadly, I think the answer is "all the above" :-( This is especially disappointing for me as I put off the game initially due to horrible lag and join times. I'm still interested in the online aspects of Brawl, however. Considering the game sold millions and millions of copies I think Nintendo is being more than cheap. Also, the game is only a little over a year old (right?).
Question: Why is there unanimous support for Nintendo bashing on n4g?
Answer: Nint...
Its hard for me to look at the N64 screens...I feel like I took my glasses off. Glad to see the game looks a lot sharper albeit sterile.
I have a subscription to Qore and haven't been able to get the demo yet. Anyone else? I'm finally getting Infamous in July (my b-day) so I'm sad...no Uncharted beta for me :-(
Banning violent and nudity filled video games is a non-partisan endeavor.
Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions was great in that it had cut scenes, and expanded story. Its too bad they didn't port the psp game, but the heart of the game is still there. As stated above and below, it makes most sense to port the psp version. Also, if most psp games are available on PSN after October, what is the point of the "classic" version being released?
