There is a certain segment of gamers that are graphic snobs. While some of us look at sum of all the parts of a game, and decide if it is FUN, the graphic snobs are just looking at pixels & polygons.
I loved InFamous. Who is the wanker with the cheesy tattoos in this next game?
j/k - I think this game is going to be cool. ;-)
I like Gamesradar's site, as they are good at comedy. Game criticism...well, sometimes they look at minutia, and make whole articles about it. You just have to laugh, and consider the source.
I'm guessing over a million sales...maybe not overnight though. There is a huge fanbase out there though. It has been a long time since the last games were out, so who knows how many of the old fans are still gaming. It really depends on how well it is reviewed.
This is starting to sound like it is really going to satisfy the old school Twisted Metal fans with game play & style. I'm stoked!
All these sales debates are funny. Initial preorders before a product is even priced is not a guage on how well something is going to sell over it's projected lifecycle. Once it is priced, and people start buying, it will be a little easier to estimate sustained sales.
It is a nice compliment to Sony.
Adding an interesting technology for the future (at no cost to owners) four years after the device was introduced to the market is one of the reasons this is such a great product. All I have to do is connect to the network to get the device tech refreshed for the future? Pretty cool!
Harlow: "What do you think is most cool about Microsoft?"
Ballmer: "Apple's got some stuff, but we're going to give them a real run for their money. They've got some stuff that's resonating..."
WOW, that is an unbelievabely bad response to that question. When asked what is cool about his company, he brought up Apple resonating with consumers. I think a lot of Microsoft's image issues are self inflicted damage. Ballm...
Well played halojunkie. I don't know who it was for, but it was a good read.
It's a pretty good website for PS3 info. One of the reasons I like this site is they are not trollish. They don't write articles bashing other systems. You will notice even in this article they did not say anything negative about Microsoft or Nintendo, and gave props to Gears of War 3.
Really? Aha, so really it is free rental of those games as long as you have a subscription, and not really owning them with no strings attached. Not so good then.
lol, glad I am not the only one that noticed.
The real little ones learn pretty fast how to use the Wii controllers (even if they are crap at playing the game). It will be interesting to see how the real young kids play with Kinect, and if it "connects" with them.
Seems to me it is not a matter of "falling for it", but a question of value. Do you buy a lot of games on the PSN store? If you say yes, this service may save you money. If you don't, then it might not be worth paying for.
True that. To me, Twisted Metal was always been about the game play. IMO, it was always the most intense, never rest, never blink, play until your hand cramped up kind of game. All this game needs to do is have that great game play feel to it from the old days, with HD clarity, and it is going to be great.
It is a game made for the fans. Not everyone likes Twisted Metal, but there are a lot of hardcore fans out there that have been waiting for a long time. The way they introduced it was basically saying "we don't really care about the people that don't understand why we have an Ice Cream truck on the stage."
The graphics on the G4TV video looked nice & crisp on TV to me, but not stylistically different from the older games (damage was also simple like the older games). That is totally what I want to see in the new version. Gameplay is the key to this game being good or not, just like the older ones (which had total crap graphics on the PS1 & PS2). Burnout Paradise is the same as this new Twisted imo...crisper graphics, but stylistically similar to the older versions. Both are very much ar...
I think you are on to something there. A lot of PS3 games are kind of quirky, go against the mainstream, and have a high level of polish to them. I would describe the PS3 as a niche system, but that is not really accurate considering how many they sell worldwide now (maybe that was true a few years ago). But a lot of games have a "boutique" kind of feel instead of mass produced, by the numbers formula.
Talking about games, games, games...I'll give you my perspective as a PS3 owner (that is NOT a fanboy).
Mass Effect 2 & Alan Wake seem like games I could get into. I feel like new sequels to some of Xbox franchise games they previewed appeal to the "already owns" crowd, so that doesn't quite entice people like me to want to buy a 360. The new box has built in wifi, so it finally looks complete to me. So they have someone like me looking at thier produc...
ThatGameCompany are true artists. I love how they look at video games from a totally unique angle. Their games are totally unlike any other games out there.
