I currently have 25 games I payed 60 dollars each for, have about 25 downloaded games, bought various DLC, and have traded in about another 10 games since 2007. I estimate over $2,000 spent not including the cost of my console.

Why should a product be released later if you don't happen to like what it is or the price when it is released? You can just pass on it instead of "having to pay that much money for crap". But that's what happens I suppose when people become "loyal fans" to corporations.

The only reason RDR got good reviews is because reviewers kiss Rockstar's ass? Maybe I am too far out there, but I thought it got good reviewes because it is a pretty good game.

At least that's what the president wants everyone to think when he gets on a soapbox trying to push his agendas. But the reality is most companies in America are not the unethical Wall Street companies that have been doing this.

The problem these days is a problem of perception. When politicians have the podium, they can say a lot of things that scare people into believeing they are the only ones that should be trusted...when in fact they are often the ones that we shou...

I'm worried now because of playing games like InFamous. Instead of wanting to join the military, I have a strong urge to stick my toungue in lightbulb sockets to get recharged.

I dont beleive anyone would do this either. Besides a significant amount of potential customers not having 3D systems at home, many others don't feel like 3D is a safe thing to do for prolonged periods of time. I myself am in that camp. I may one day buy a 3DTV, but I will not be playing games for many hours at a time with those 3D glasses on.

I payed about $2,400 for a Panasonic 50" plasma HDTV about three years ago. I was just looking at prices for 3DTV, and see a 50" Panasonic plasma for about $2,600.

This is not a significant cost that will doom 3D to fail at the retail stores. If I was in the market for a new TV today, it would be within my budget to buy a 3D. Even if I think it is a gimick, I am not going to spend money on an expensive TV that does not have all the current features like 3D.

I had fun with the open world setting of Guerrilla. All the previews I've seen of Armageddon reminds me of the original Red Faction settings. Looks cool.

I don't see it either as a gimmick or groundbreaking...I see it as developers keeping pace with TV technology. All TV makers are starting to incorporate 3D as a feature in their new televisions. The entertainment industry is running with 3D, and game makers are keeping pace with the entertainment industry.

Looking forward to this game...but I seriously hope Obsidian is fixing the very bad programming Bethseda did for the PS3 with FO3. It's very frustrating when a game you get totally addicted to playing also happens to be the buggiest game you ever played.

Thank goodness for developers like this that give us totally unique games to play. I get tired of the same old same old with video games...shooting, driving, platforming, repeat...

I probably play for about 6-8 hours per week, mostly on weekends. Gotta have time for real life...and work.

I really don't care what label I am...casual, hardcoire, whatever. I've been playing video games since we had a Magnovox Pong set up at home, before we had the labels of different types of gamers.

No, they are wacking off to simulated hooker encounters in GTA.

I find it amusing that the author questions if Rockstar "lost their marble when it comes to their ideals about adult gaming". As an adult, I find Red Dead Redemption to be Rockstar's most mature game to date. All the nonsense the author misses is immature content that is titilating to high school boys.

I don't see the progression as a result of Rockstar bowing down to soccer moms. It looks like they are just growing up to me.

Yeah, it is funny looking at this from an older gamer's perspective. When I was a kid, we didn't have Internet game forums to waste time arguing over this stuff. We didn't pick sides on hardware, because we wanted as many toys as we could get. Kids these days that close off half the possibilities by being fanboys are their own worst enemy. They are putting self imposed restrictions on themselves of what games they will play by being fanboys.

Interesting take on this. Personally, I have found that most of the biggest selling pop culture entertainment (music, movies, games), are somewhat nuetered in their creativity, and subject to blandness due to being crafted to appeal to as many people as possible. MW2 is the poster child for appealing to the mass market.

Avatar was the biggest selling movie. Was it better than every other movie that came out? Haha, not bloody likely.

Take all the reviews and do an average. Uncharted 2 gets a 96.41% ranking based upon 78 reviews from gamerankings.com. Everyone has their own taste, but you can't dispute a rating, and call it an over-rating because your taste does not agree.

I prefer to avoid using terms like "overrated" when discussing matters of subjective taste. You can't defend that claim if the majority of people gives something a high rating. From a purely logical standpoint, it is...

A blu ray disk will last longer than a harddrive if you take care of it. If I have a choice, I'll put my money towards a portable disk over a non-portable download onto a harddrive. Harddrives have moving parts, & generate heat. They eventually fail, depending how much they are used. And even if the drive does not fail, you can;t use that drive in another PS3 without reformatting if you PS3 dies an untimely death. I have gone through the hassle of redownloading 25 games, and a bunch o...
