I don't think you have anything to worry about with Microsoft. They will continue to offer their loyal customers end of life technology for today's prices.
Microsoft is just saying this as a defense for not yet supporting it in their game console. The reality is every brand of TV manufacturer is starting to incorporate this capability into new models. People are focused on what Sony is doing because they make game hardware, but Sony is one of many electronics manufacturers making 3D standard for televesions.
As far as prices go...I just did a look, and see Panasonic has a 3d plasma that is about the same price for it's siz...
Timing is everything. I have an excellent HDTV plasma I bought three years ago, so I am not in the market for a new TV. But if I was, it is a no brainer to get a TV capable of 3d, because all manufacturers are starting to incorporate that technology as a new standard.
Can't say that I'd want to pay for it, but I'm sure I'd get a kick out of watching a Sweet Tooth slasher movie.
I like both, but you have to view them as different kinds of games, not to be compared to each other. Since there are both types to buy, it is a non-issue imo.
Doing what you are not supposed to do to find the failure threshold is a good test. It's called a stress test.
Fallon is such a nerd...not saying that as a bad thing ;-)
Make it for PS3...it will be supported by that demographic.
If you care enough to post that, something must be bugging you.
All of these companies are going to respond the only way they can...company line telling the world they have a fabulous product. People shouldn't buy into the hype that these big companies care about you.
And just so you know, I am not singeling out Microsoft. I am a PS3 owner, and don't have any warm fuzzy feelings about Sony. I had a PS3 brick after 18 months, then die the exact same death six months later after I payed $150 to fix it. Their customer service were...
LOL, I say cut off the dangling member if you aren't going to be a man. LMAO at weak crybaby dudes.
Fanboys are funny...they actually think big corproations are also fanboys? EA wants to sell as many games as possible on both systems.
Sounds like the makings of a good Mythbusters TV show episode
If someone thought it would be worth the time & money to do the port, manufacture, package, licensing, sell to retail stores, advertise...well then I suppose they would be making that product. Do you hear the crickets chirping? No interest.
McDonalds sells a lot of hamburgers too. Does that mean we should be really impressed by the food?
But seriously, I am not going to rip Kinect. But I question the reasoning behind wanting to be the first to own something that they talk more about what it might be able to do than what it will be able to do out of the box. If the device is integrated into games actually available in a way that's cool then that is the time to buy. Early buyers are going to be stuck playing...
Microsoft is not a home consumer electronics company that sells televisions. So of course they may not understand why a company that has been selling TVs since the 1960's continues to try to push new TV products out to the market.
What is the return for investment for a company like Rockstar that makes tons of money from selling games on 360 & PS3 to develop an inferior graphic quality version of one of their games on a system that has shown to have poor sales in MA rated games?
haha, my thoughts exactly...attention wh0re trying to milk his 15 minutes of fame for all it's worth. If the guy actually had talent, he would be making something useful that people would buy, and getting rich off of it.
LOL, maybe get a life instead of hoping a product you don't care about fails. Considering you don't have to play games in 3d, it is a waste of energy writing a long rant about how much you hate it. I myself spend no time at all thinking about things I don't want to purchase.
I hear ya. I actually don't have an axe to grind with Microsoft, but when they say things that sound funny, I feel like commenting.
They are of course not an electronic company, and farm out the manufactur of their hardware to companies like Wistron...which is the manufacturer of Acer. Which is also amusing to me, because the crappiest PC I was unlucky enough to buy a few years ago was an Acer...it would reboot on it's own quite often...reason was finally determined...
