It must be a fetish thing...for guys that are neither interested in images of real women, or good games.

It would be cool.

But there has been, and still are a lot of dubious claims of what great things Kinect will do in the future. I myself buy things based on what they can do out fo the box, and not on hype of what it may someday do.

If the reason you are playing a game is to get to the end as fast as you can, then of course you will get annoyed with a game that has a long single campaign.

Personally, I am in no rush to finish a game. I play when I get a chance, a little at a time. Because of that, I still value games with longer campaigns over shorter as being a much better value with my gaming dollars.

People say that corporate reputation doesn't matter, because gamers are stupid, and will grovel for the next release regardless of how much they hate the publisher's business practices.

I am not so sure about that. Unless a game is over 9.0 in reviews, or a favorite franchise, I think there are a lot of gamers that would avoid trying some games when they see the Activision label on the package.

As the old saying goes, cheaters only cheat themselves.

I am quite sure the cheaters that only care about bragging about hit counts are not having as much fun as those that play for the pure joy of playing. Because after all, if you cheat to win, you know in your heart that you are just a poser. You can't lie to yourself.

I liked the preview they showed at E3. Most impressive thing to me was that every stone, plant, junk pile, etc. in the vast environment is custom created. No repeating objects to save time in creating a large environment. It will be interesting to explore this world.

Haha, cry me a river, Mr. Sensitive Guy.

Funny thing is this guy doesn't seem to realize that he got exactly what David Cage promised...an emotional response to the game. I don't recall any promises of happy emotions when reading about this game before it came out.

Keep working on your skills. You may achieve "mildly amusing" status someday.

If people don't understand the huge influence of manga & anime in Japanese pop culture, then they may not get the appeal of JPRGs, and say they are stale and "not realistic".

Personally, I am a big fan of Japanese anime. I see many Japanese games as being an extension to that entertainment, just like many western games try to emulate Hollywood movies.

haha, great response.

You are right on target here. Any company that shows off laser tag in a 2010 E3 demo should not be taken seriously in their predictions of the future of gaming.

Why do all the articles that talk about the great things Kinect can do usually talk about imaginary things that it will most certainly not be doing? - like this game library

Nice rack!

Was there an article too? I didn't notice.

Aren't all video games, or all entertainment for that matter disposable? We play, watch, listen, to entertainement, then move on. It is meant to be a transitory pastime, until the next thing that grabs your attention comes out.

The best creative artists are those that can stay focused, and complete a project before getting to that point of boredom. I don't work in the video game industry, so I know that is probably easier said than done. The business side can be counterproductive to the creative side.

As a musician, I can relate to this feeling. If I am in my studio laying down some tracks, the ones I stay focused on and work through quickly to get my ideas down end up as finished songs. Those...

@ ExplosionSauce -

IMO, things have diverged from the source so far that it is irrelevent to compare what is more evolved or devolved. They are just different games.

As far as the stopping between plays, that is one of the interesting aspects of American football. There are mini strategy sessions going on with the offense & defense between plays, where each team is trying to figure out what the other side is going to try next. The beauty of this game ...

It evolved from various forms of football back in the 19th century. Colleges took rugby football, and modified it into a different game. It's not like someone invented a totally new game out of nothing, and said, "hey, let's also call this game football".

So if you know the history, you will know it is not actually "retarded" that the foootball name stayed with the modifed American version of an older game.

The Madden series in general has been an insult to gamers for several years. I no longer buy any episodic EA sports games because of my past annoyances with Madden football games. The last one I liked was 2003 on the PS2 - simple, but worked just fine without issues.

And I love NFL football. I watch every game on Sundays & Monday.

Two thoughts on all this...

1) There is inherit risk in the process of updating firmware. As a long time networking person, we like to keep things stable, and update when needed to fix bugs. Not willy-nilly constant updates to the OS of a device.

2) Sony's customer service sucks donkey balls in my personal experience.

That is all.

haha, no doubt. The grabable ledges almost glow in the dark they are so obvious. Perhaps the author has some vision issues, or a really bad TV set.
