I am going to on share an on popular opinion here. I am worried about how persons are ready to discredit the findings made by Austin over this opinion piece even though Austin had the actual console in front of him and showed you video evidence of what he was saying. Yes his videos do have click bait titles but the content is what matters and it brings us back to the discussion that we had prior to the ps5 launch. Will the smaller heat sink make the ps5 sound like it is about to go to Mars as...
That means nothing as we have seen even reputable companies release products with hardware issues that eventually lead to a recall. This happens more frequent than you think and and even Sony is involved in some of these cases. Like in 2006 when they had exploding batteries which led to a major recall for all major laptop brands that used the batteries. Another high profile case which involves another reputable company is the exploding batteries that was in the Samsung Galaxy note 7.
The only good scenario where I can think of cutting the heat sink size is that they did not have enough time to test the quality of the console prior to launch so they over engineered the heat sink to be safe. A year later, they now have a better understanding of what is actually required so they cut off the excess copper and aluminum they believed was giving them deminishing returns to make a more cost efficient console.
We will eventually see a more detailed breakdown of...
Wish they added haptic feedback and adaptive triggers but still a good update
This is great news. I bought the Frozen wilds dlc the day it came out but did not play it. Now I will be able to experience it in 60 fps. Now we only need uncharted 4 and Bloodborne To be patched.
This is excellent news. I stopped playing this game about halfway through now when I pickup, it would have improved significantly.
There is precedent to what he is saying since the last game Sony published for the ps3 was in 2016 which is 10 years after the console launched and 3 years after the ps4 released. Sony plans to sell 22 million ps5 consoles by March 2022 and by the same time in 2023 the install base could reach close to 40 million units as the semiconductor shortage and the covid situation improves over the next 2 years. By then we would have had Horizon out and there is a possibility God of war would be out b...
It's hard to say if Returnal is a massive success or failier because it had several things going against it and still managed to have an attach rate of 5.6%. These obstacles are new IP, $70 price tag at launch, rougelike genre, and small console install base compared to previous generation consoles. With numbers like this I think it is no wonder Sony wants to make several ps5 games come to ps4 and I won't be surprised we are still hearing of shortages all the way in 2023.
I didn't even know this game existed before today. I will be keeping an eye on it.
I really hope he considers having one of their studios work on a high fantasy rpg that can go up against the Elder scrolls, Fable, Avowed etc because I fear that with the recent acquisitions by microsoft. High quality games in that genre will remain exclusive to xbox. They have mastered 3rd person action adventure games and it would be great if they could branch out.
It is no where near as bad as you make it seem. We are talking about the buying power of kids 20 years ago. How many do you think could convince their parents to purchase 2 Gameboys and 2 versions of the same Pokemon game just to trade with themselves.
Another thing to take into consideration is that prior to the global trading system being implemented, you could find and capture the best/most popular pokemon in either version of the game. It was mostly the niche and low p...
I think the explanation of creating a engaging community of trading with friends seems plausible for the reason. In the real world, it is very rare for someone to purchase the 2 versions just to trade with themself. I remember the days when my friends and I had some enjoyment out of battling and trading via the link cable function.
I wish this was plus month
I am convinced Insomniac is going to be the new Naughty Dog.
I have a feeling they are holding off the next Elder scrolls because of Elder scrolls online. I've never played Elder Scrolls online but if it is very close to the traditional Elder scroll games, a next gen Elder Scrolls might cause people to quit.
5 years and all we got at e3 was a cgi trailer.
I think this tech is launching too late. It takes years to make a AAA game and this engine is still in development which means we likely won't start to see UE5 games until late current gen or early next gen unless we start to see smaller games with less development time push out titles by mid gen.
Maybe they can approach arc system works. They have been making fighting games for decades and the recent fighting games made by that developer have been home runs. I would really like to see killer instinct as one of the major fighting games at tournaments.
Sony had me worried for a moment and now I hope the ps5 version isn't too far behind
I don't think any reasonable people were thinking this would lead to rrod or something similar. The original launch unit was not perfect and what I am most eager to see is if the memory modules are being cooled better than the original.
