Has anyone else connected the dots and realized that the consequences of these cancellations mean all of those studios are now working on PS6 games?
The typical Sony generation lasts 6 years. That would mean the PS6 is due to launch in November 2026 or 2027. There is no way those studios are going to have something ready within a year or 2.
@LordoftheCritics I disagree about Vailguard being the most disappointing game of the year. Going into the launch of that game, 90% of the comments I was seeing from this community were negative. Many also wanted the game to fail.
In my opinion, for a game to be disappointing, it would mean the game was highly anticipated for success going into the launch of the game only to bomb in the reviews and fail commercially.
I would say Hellblade 2 claims this ti...
.
It would have been hard for Dragon Age Vailguard to set the internet on fire like Elden Ring did because of the hate from the people who were influenced by conservative podcasts. Bioware is also not as unique today as they once were because many games have caught up in terms of gameplay and storytelling.
You played the game?
You are basically covering for Sony's bad bets on live service development.
I have been dabbling with PC gaming for over a decade, and I have never tried to launch a game my system meets the requirements for, and it failed to launch. You are doing yourself a huge disservice by continuing to believe that none sense.
That quote is grossly inaccurate post-chip shortage. To build a PC that costs $1600. It would mean you are building something with an Rtx 4080 super or RTX 5080, 32 GB RAM, and a Ryzen 5 9600x. With that performance, you would far exceed even the PS5 Pro by a large margin.
I agree that PC gaming is the way to go today but this article doesn't post any statistics to prove the headline true. I know the newer generation of gamers prefer to game on PC and I too am thinking of distancing myself from console gaming come next generation. Especially since console pricing is moving close to that $1000 mark.
I have said it before, but console gaming has become overpriced. The new Sony is not the same Sony we had in the PS4 days. Back then never did...
I agree with him. Yes, there are the safe games devs can make, which is just a reskin of a previous title, but the best games are the ones we didn't know we wanted. When we go by that, finding success can be like catching lightning in a bottle. Your game can either crash and burn or sell over 1m copies on launch day.
If we look at 2 of the most popular surprises of 2024. Palworld brought the survival mechanic to the creature capture genre. It found a sizable niche and m...
This news is insane and it explains why Sony doesn't have many upcoming games that we know of.
All this time I secretly thought Bluepoint was working on a BloodBorne remaster. What the hell is going on over there?
I think you need to take a step back and think about the argument you are bringing forward.
Is playstation a 3rd party publisher for publishing MLB the show on Xbox?
Was Xbox considered a 3rd party publisher when they continued to put Minecraft on PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, Android, and IOS after acquiring them a decade ago?
I am sure your answer to these questions would be absolutely not.
As of this date, January ...
The question doesn't make any sense.
"With the corroborated rumors that Microsoft is bringing Halo: The Master Chief Collection to PS5 and Nintendo Switch 2, is Xbox now officially a Sega-like third-party publisher?"
How can Xbox officially be a 3rd party publisher if it is rumored that Halo and other exclusive titles are being released on other platforms?
I believe they should wait for the official announcement before as...
Let's get the positives out of the way first. Game pass is a really good deal for gamers and the promise of offering day one releases on the system in theory sounds like a deal most Xbox owners would be happy with. You get access to all the 1st party games from the Xbox 360 all the way to the series consoles. You also get access to early access games like Slime Rancher 2 and Palworld as well as many indies, AA and AAA third party games. Some of which launch into game pass.
The story was being told from 2 different perspectives. Having the story last half as long would have been a huge disservice to the fans.
@anast I too wished the story was longer. My first playthrough reminded me of the Walking Dead series back when it was the hottest show on tv. Yes, there were moments in the show we fans didn't like, and characters we can't stand like Rick's wife, but we still continued watching.
The hate is unwarranted. The haters consume so much BS from the grifters on YouTube that talk about DEI and LGBTQ or modern women all day that their world view has changed for the worst. I get why they would hate on a game like Concord because it represents the generic live service title that comes and go. We don't want Sony to go in that direction but when gamers start hating on their single player games for stupid reasons, soon you guys will have nothing to play because everyone will th...
Nfs has been giving us the same mechanics over and over again. They have recently been leaning more into street racing because of popular demand from the fans, but they aren't quite there yet.
I would suggest they simply remake the NFS underground series, and in 2005, most wanted and go from there after getting the baseline of what the fans want.
It was a gamble. I believe that in the early part of the current gen, Xbox allocated a large portion of their series X wafers to xCloud making supply limited on that front while using the discarded chips that didn't quite meet the Series X standard, repurposed for the Series S. Waste not want not.
This made it so that they could invest in their xCloud servers while maintaining a presence in the console space during the chip shortage by making those discarded chips be re...
I haven't beaten the first Crysis but I did play Crysis 2 and Crysis 3. I know some PC players were annoyed by the last 2 games being developed with consoles in mind but I believe it was an improvement. I had a great time with Crysis 3 to the point where I believe it was too short.
That bow weapon will have to be powerful enough to take on the heavily armored enemies.
