So if onlive was losing money, I doubt Gaikai or any other game-streaming service was ever profitable. Future of gaming? Not so fast.

It is just a bubble that bursted really quick. Zynga and Facebook games are on their way down as well. Next stop is free to play games, before we go to mobile gaming. I am not saying these business models will be dead and gone forever. I am saying they will come back to a more reasonable rating. At the end of the day people will realise that 3 ...

I played on steam, battle.net, PSN, Dreamarena and Xbox Live. Xbox Live is by FAR the best service on the market.

The UI and integration of all the apps works just perfectly fine. Better than anywhere else. The content is awesome, the online gameplay works easily, same for the cloud storage, cross game chat, perfect customer service (something PC gamers don't even know in this form), integration with PCs is already pretty good and smartglass will be another step in the ri...

Typical misinformed user.

Windows 8 comes with Windows 7 with better efficency. Turn the metro design off and you are ready to go.

The feedback so far was very positive. It seems to run very stable and the UI is intuitive and a perfect fit for tablets.

Every CoD sells more than 30 million copies. For example every Final Fantasy game on every platform all add together sold 90 million. So CoD surpasses FF every 3 years.

I would be shocked if it could grow even further. It is the best selling gaming franchise EVER.

*edit* please don't come up with Angry Birds or anything like that for obvious reasons.

If the Xbox 3 becomes a part of the Windows ecosystem, it is a plus for everybody.

The ecosystem will be gigantic for MS. Xbox 3, Surface, Windows 8 PCs, tablets, Skype running on all of that and Windows phones allow great new experiences with the cloud and smartglass.

You can get all your gadgets covered by MS now and all of them seem to be good products.

Tear away: Looks really cool and is the perfect type of game for a handheld. This is the first time that Sony understood how a handheld works. It is the right software for the right device. People blame MS for not supporting Kinect with core games, but that would be the wrong software for such a device. I am a core gamer and even I would not play these games. I play Dance Central and Kinect Sports with a couple of friends though. So Sony got it finally right this time. The bad part is, that t...

- Tear Away: COOL!
- Killzone: Meh!
- Rain: okay!
- Until Dawn: Really bad!
- Puppeteer: Bad!
- CoD on Vita: Bad!
- Playstation Mobile: pointless (Who plays phone-games on the Vita? Isn't the point of the Vita that you get deeper games than that?)
- Fifa with Move: Terrible!

That was the conference IMO.

Denial is strong on N4G.

When Sony says Motorstorm series sold 6 million copies, it means that the Motorstorm series sold 6 million copies. Okay? That includes any copy you can get and every way of distribution. So these numbers include PS2, PSP or PSN titles. Fact. I mean, why shouldn't they?

When you consider some of the SKUs I mentioned irrelevant, it is your fault, because Sony added those when they talked about their 6 million copies sold.

Ehm, 6 million for

- Motorstorm (PS3)
- Motorstorm: Pacific Rift (PS3)
- Motorstorm: Arctic Edge (PSP)
- Motorstorm: Arctic Edge (PS2)
- Motorstorm: Apocalypse (PS3)
- Motorstorm: RC (PS Vita)
- Motorstorm 3D Rift (PS3)
- Motorstorm Complete (PS3)

The first one was heavily bundled, so it crossed almost 4 million. So there are 7 SKUs selling 2 million units. That makes 285k per SKU.

Does...

This was the winner of the Dream Build Play awards from MS in 2009. The creator won 40k USD in cash and a publishing deal.

So it really is a win-win situation. MS only had to pay 40k to get this game exclusive and the creator probably makes a fortune with it on XBLA.

Lionhead should be mentioned as well.

Halo 4 will be Goty for me. Can't wait to get my hands on it and see what 343i is capable of.

It is selling less than the PS3 in its worst days with a 600 USD pricetag. How can this be acceptable? I am not making this up. PS Vita sold 48k in the last five weeks in the US according to NPD, that is less than the PS3 managed to get in its 6 years on the market.

What a bad article that is.

We don't know the exact costs for those devices. How can you say, the PS Vita was the only bright spot, when they cut the forecast of the whole year by 4 million (PSP and Vita combined) just after 3 months?

Why shouldn't the PSP be profitable? It is very old hardware and it gets NO advertising costs at all. Same for the PS2. I think the PS Vita and the PS3 are not profitable, because they are actually advertised and the pro...

PS Vita below 50k for the whole month is the real Story. 130k for DS and 135 for 3DS. The Vita is on the edge of being dead or getting a huge pricecut that kills Sonys financial situation even more.

What a nightmare the Vita is for Sony.

Well if the 16 GB PS3 turns out to be real, this is more important than ever before.

I never said anything different.

The 3DS suffers as well, but the 3DS is doing okay, while the PS Vita is doing terrible, so I pointed the Vita out.

Well people can downplay the impact of mobile games all they want, but smartphones are hurting the PS Vita significantly.

So no, I will still play on my console and Angry Birds on my Samsung Galaxy S2 will not change that. But it will change my need to have a portable gaming device.

except the financial ones Sony is in.

40 million USD loss in the past 3 months for SCE and 350 million for the whole company.

Moody wants to downgrade Sony even further - the last downgrade was just a couple of months ago.

The Vita is in big trouble now. Sony even reduced their forecast by a few millions.

Minecraft on Xbox 360 will outsell every PS3 exclusive of 2012. True story.

It is a testament to the success of Xbox Live Arcade. And no "XBLA does not count" fanboy bs will change that.
