Well sounds like a subscription to me.
At first I thought "meh specs" but then I realised how great Halo 4, Gears of War 3, Uncharted or Crysis 2 look and the Wii U has even more power than the consoles that run these games.
I still think the Wii U will be the weakest console next gen, but still powerfull enough to give gamers great looking and deep experiences.

And how do you measure quality? With 1-2 points on metacritic that gathers data from a broken review system or your personal taste?
Halo is so unique you simply can't find a similar experience anywhere else. The singleplayer, multiplayer, story, support, community features are just unmatched.
You are free to like and buy the games you want, but for me there is no Sony exclusive or any 3rd party game that comes even close to the quality of Halo.

Wow, the article is an eye-opener for a lot of N4G users. It is well written with charts and well researched. Something people did not like about gaming journalism in the past months.

Why didn't he mention that you can easily use any USB flash memory to get more storage. That would be more than enough for a 3-4 game demos and streaming content. Or what about memory cards for the almost-dead vita? did he check those prices?

I will give smartglass a try and see how IE works on the 360. The PS3 browser was so slow and uncomfortable that I never really used it at all. Hope MS does a better job, using my smartphone as an input device for it.
If the Vita is any indication, Sony has a hard time in the USA.

- Xbox 360 has the most games this gen. FACT.
- MS owns way more studios than Sony. FACT.
MS owns 20 game studios (+5 studios for Non-game stuff), Sony owns 14 studios.
- XBL is running way more stable than PSN and makes way more money as well. FACT. PSN+ is Sonys attempt to monetise PSN the way MS does with XBL. Sony is playing catch-up here.

I think the timing in 2013 is just right for a new console. Being first is important.
The differences in the tech are not THAT big in one year, so this will result in some minor advantages for one manufacturer - just like this gen. Except one manufacturer does not want to make a big leap (like Wii U).
But newer tech will always be more expensive and you are trying to sell a more expensive product to a consumer who has friends that already play the competitor...

This is a feature that costs so much, but nobody can use it. This will push the pricepoint up in a very significant way and will result in less market share and less support from 3rd partys.
And don't get me started with 4k TVs for 11000 USD if you find one cheap.
I would not celebrate Sony for offering something I can't use but I have to pay for it. And that is exactly what will happen with a PS4 console powerful enough to deliver blokcbuster games ...
