@strobe31
I believe the claim is coming from a few of the developers who have been developing games for the console.
I've seen reports saying 'significantly more powerful' and '50% more powerful' etc. No concrete information, but the general consensus seems to be that it IS more powerful than the PS3/360.
@NeutralGamer:
It's called PoCoYo. Narrated by the awesome Mr Stephen Fry.
It's a kid's show (which I happen to watch regularly with my kids).
And it's also quite good. :P
And let's not forget that he didn't just have 2 days to play the game - he had just 2 days to play it AND write the review in time for publishing. That's quite a deadline.
This 'picture' was 'leaked' about 2 weeks ago. Hardly 'finger on the pulse' stuff from the site that was supposedly the first to announce a new Smash Bros, is it?
Stop releasing screnshots, Nintendo, and release the damn game already!! lol.
Honestly, the amount of teasing done by some of these companies is ridiculous. I can't wait for this game, plus Assassin's Creed and Batman, and these games are teased the most. Makes the wait almost unbearable.
On the other hand, too many screenshots give away some of the surprises, so please stop.
@PirateThom
Oh, you mean those unsubstantiated rumours that came from 01net? As opposed to the confirmed statements from Crytek and many more saying how easy the WiiU is to develop for?
I didn't miss those - I just chose to believe facts over rumours.
I have to admit that, on a short journey, or when I'm on the lavatory, I'll use my Galaxy S to play quick games, but you can NEVER get the same experience on a smartphone that you do on a dedicated handheld.
There is just no comparison. Even my Gameboy gives better gaming experiences than Android and iOS for the most part!
Why not? It means that nobody sits next to you, and you get a bit more space!! I have no problem getting mine out on the bus or train (and I'm referring to my 3DS :P).
@Nicaragua
I didn't know that the analog stick was mandatory for MH4 - have the control details even been announced? I know that it is optional for all the others, and may stay optional. However, it is being bundled with MH: TriG.
According to Nintendo, NO games REQUIRE the add-on (yet), so it IS an OPTIONAL thing, and the 3DS can still play ALL games out the box.
@plmkoh:
I can get far more than 3 hours on the 3DS with...
Reason I mentioned is because the iPad uses a Li-Ion Polymer battery, as does the PS3 controller. Pretty sure the iPad battery is bigger in size, but you can get smaller sized versions.
I just wondered if the only reason was price.
I have to wonder why Sony didn't go for the same kind of battery found in the iPad to be honest. They tend to last longer than the Li-Ion ones over the course of their life, and Sony already use them on the PS3 controller - would have probably got longer play time overall, and longer lifespan too.
Interestingly, the Vita battery is the same as the Endurance PSP battery (2200mAh), and the 3DS battery is actually quite a bit smaller than the Vita's (1300mAh). I wonder...
The analog stick for the 3DS is also optional - you can play the games just fine without them. It's certainly not a 'must'. And bulky? Yes, maybe compared to the 3DS, but it would still be the same size as the Vita with the attachment.
My question is simple - if Sony can develop a battery which is reportedly double what is in the Vita, then why not include it in the first place?
Both the 3DS AND the Vita state 3-5 hours of play, but there are d...
I can't play the 3DS for long periods either, because I find it uncomfortable (which is why the battery life doesn't bother me, lol).
This does look like it will make it more comfortable to hold, so I'm happy about that.
It's a good idea, but I'm surprised no-one has asked that question - why not put the larger battery in from the start? Would that not have solved the problem?
Peripherals should be more of an option than a necessity (including the 3DS in that statement there :P).
I totally agree with you on the first part. The Vita really does look like an attractive handheld, without a doubt. I can't wait to get my hands on it.
I only have one concern, though, and that is with the battery life. We all know that we can get 3-5 hours of gaming from it (which in my view is acceptable), but those figures are with Bluetooth, WiFi and network features all turned off. With the majority of the things that Sony is showing being so tied into network pl...
That'll be because it's in German, then. :P
Lol at the disagrees again. Who exactly are you to tell me that I can't get a full days battery from my phone?
I use the browser regularly, and I also check Facebook, Google+, AND I play a few word games on it (plus a bit of Angry Birds). I can even get a good couple of hours listening to music on it if I have to take the bus anywhere.
I download my work email to the phone as well, so I can keep in touch with clients on the go.
However,...
I can get a full day out of my Galaxy S - and I keep Wi-Fi on pretty much all the time (stupidly, lol).
If I switched Wi Fi off when I'm out the house, I'd probably get longer out of it.
I'm more interested in the games than the power. I buy my consoles for the games that I will be playing, not how much power it has.
That's why I own all the consoles this gen, as well as the DSi, 3DS and PSP. And I will be buying the Vita too. Because I'm a GAMES player, and not a power player.
What I was saying above was that I get 6 hours playing 3DS games (with 3D and Wi Fi on - with the 3D being a key marketing factor). But the Vita is goi...
My collectors edition arrived this morning! Can't wait to play it. :)
