I get about 6 hours on my 3DS playing 3DS games (with Wi-Fi on), and get about 9 and a half hours playing standard DS games (Wi Fi off).

I wonder how the network features, Wi Fi and Bluetooth will affect the Vita battery life, because the whole connectivity aspect of the handheld is a key part in its marketing and appeal.

For me, though, it's all about the games, and the Vita does look like its got some good looking games. I rarely take any of my handhel...

OK then - maybe comparing the camera to Kinect and PS Eye was a mistake (even though they are the same resolution).

How about comparing it to the cameras on the PS Vita then? Exact same resolution as the 3DS, yet Vita isn't even mentioned while Nintendo get slammed.

You have to bear in mind that these devices are primarily games playing devices. Photography is not their strong point, and is more or less just an added feature.

The very f...

I initially thought that the whale in the sky was more a reference to the Wind Fish from Link's Awakening, as it would seem appropriate given the setting.

They realy seem to have gone all out on this new Zelda. I'm really looking forward to it. Where am I going to find the time to plough 50-100 hours into it, though? lol. I'm sure I'll make time.

You have to laugh at al the phantom disagrees out there. Oh, N4G, how I love you so. lol.

What is there to disagree with? Is there not a deluge of great games across all systems out in the next few months? I've preordered Assassin's Creed Revelations, Batman Arkham City, Zelda Skyward Sword, Super Mario 3DS, Mario Kart 7, Saint's Row: The Third already, and I've now got to worry about how my wallet will react! lol.

Or do people think that N...

Now would be a good time to buy some shares - if only i had spare money. It's all set aside for the fantastic games that are coming out before (and after) Christmas. And yes, that does include some 3DS games. :)

Looks to me like they added slow motion effect for parts of the trailer.

The quality is fine for viewing on the 3DS screen - it's kind of on par with the camera on the Kinect or PS Eye in terms of on screen quality.

In fact, the cameras on Kinect and the PS Eye are 640 x 480 (as well as 320 x 240 on the PS Eye when captured at 120Hz).

640 x 480 resolution equates to 0.3 MP, which is exactly the same as the 3DS cameras. So, the 3DS cameras output exactly the same as the 360 and PS3 cameras.

Not ideal, but it&#...

The 3D photo capture works fine, so why wouldn't the 3D video capture? Do you have a 3DS?

Maybe so, but the charachter hasn't been milked to the point where there is nothing more that can be done.

With each new Mario game, there are fresh ideas, and loads of fun to be had.

Many games (such as COD, Tomb Raider, Final Fantasy, Street Fighter etc) bring nothing new to each successive game, and become stale and boring, whereas Nintendo at least try to come up with new ideas for their characters.

I think the point of the article is not really which franchises have been milked (because Nintendo would win that one), but which have been milked to the point that they have ruined the whole thing - they become stale, boring.

In my opinion, Nintendo couldn't top that list, because almost with each release, they bring something new, and the games are almost always fun.

COD has become a stale franchise, Tomb Raider has become stale and has been 'reboot...

Looking forward to this game. The original was really good. Yes, it was short, but it had a charm that you can only really get from Nintendo. It looked great, and it played great.

I want more of the same from this game, but a bit more length to it, and from the looks of the trailer, it retains the wee touches and humour that made the original great.

I don't think it's a problem with the dash - or even 9/11 itself. It works in the UK (where I am from), so the only reason that I can think of to explain why it might not work is because it contains the US emergency services number (9-1-1)?

Just a thought.

Some aspects of the 3DS' 3D actually come out at you. Most of the effect is popping in, but in certain parts of Zelda 3D, for example, some things appear as they are coming out (snow in Zora's Domain is one, and the fairy-like circles that float around the Kokiri village is another)

Actually, I think that the concept looks quite good, to be honest. Certainly would make it easier for me if I wanted to play my games while the kids want to watch TV.

And ANOTHER Nintendo controller that isn't comfortable? When was the first? In my experience, Nintendo controllers are the most comfortable you can get (with the exception of the original NES controller). Nintendo have a history of putting a lot of effort into their controllers.

You missed one thing, Pirate Thom....Nintendo NEVER promised 1:1 motion control for the Wii - people, such as yourself, merely assumed that to be the case.

Secondly, Nintendo have a history of building reliable hardware for years. I doubt they have 'forgot' how to build it.

Thirdly, this article is an old one, and has been discussed before (2 weeks ago). Every piece of hardware has troubles that need to be overcome at the start - new things the deve...

How did this get approved? It's an OLD article (well, 2 weeks old anyway), and I'm pretty sure it was discussed to death then.

The original article also states September 2012 for a release (although June was originally aimed for).

The thing is quite simple - developers are using early development kits that are not based on finished hardware. They may not get finished hardware until the end of the year for all we know.

Yet, from what...

According to the series supervisor, the extra buttons will provide the same control scheme as found on the Wii version (played with the Classic Controller Pro).

I assume that the analogue will still be used for movement, and the D-Pad will be used for inventory items (in the way that the D-Pad was used in Twilight Princess for the Wii).

But it's still all speculation at the moment. For all we know, the 3DS version could have a completely customisable con...

I prefer having the analogs offset because I mainly use the left stick and buttons at the same time (movement and action). I only use the right stick to move camera etc, which isn't always that often.

So when playing with the 360 controller, my hands are mainly in the same, symmetrical position.

Compared to when I play the PS3, and my left thumb is offset because I am using the left stick to move and the buttons on the right hand side.

I...

I like the shape of the 360 controller - I find it more comfortable than the DS3 (except in fighting games - the 360 default d-pad is terrible).

That being said, I will bypass this controller and go straight for the Arkham City one, as it pretty much has the exact configuration of the 360 controller, but with a better d-pad (the Nintendo style one it seems).

And it lights up, which is always a huge bonus for me. I light pretty lights. :P

The same way as the Wii version, apparently. OR, and here is a radical thought, you don't have to buy the accessory and just play it like the PSP version for example.

OR, and here is a more radical thought for N4G, you could wait until the full announcement next week so that you get all the facts about the game, how it looks, how it plays (with and without this peripheral), and the facts about the peripheral itself.

We could speculate for days about this...
