Because Activision’s microtransactions/ loot boxes aren’t directly linked to progression, forcing gamers to see others spend money and get so frustrated that they’re getting their asses kicked by them and making it seem like they have to spend money too. Don’t try to deflect this; EA’s system is absolute BS.
For those making up lies about CoD, I actually play the MP pretty regularly on WW2, and everything you get out of loot boxes is purely cosmetic. Same story with Destin...
The reason is architecture. That’s it. For me, this was the wonderful thing about being an avid PS3 gamer: I played all the games I really wanted back when they were still fresh and new. The last game I played on my PS3 was R&C: Into the Nexus, back in 2013. Haven’t even plugged the thing in since because PS4 has been such an amazing console experience. I don’t need backwards compatibility, because I like seeing a future of modern quality games.
Hmm. I’ve been playing the new NFS, and it’s really not that bad. Yeah, the dialogue is stupid and cringe as all hell, but the graphics are okay, and the game plays fairly smoothly like any other NFS.
I know one thing, I’m extremely satisfued with Pro as my primary console, Switch as my secondary, and Xbone S as my dust collecting shelf ornament (the white surface is great for knowing when the room could use a quick dusting). If I didn’t have the Switch, I’d choose one over a X any day.
Well, PS4 is the reincarnation of the PS2, so this fits very well.
The Xbone brand isn’t good enough in a world where all their games are shovelware crap that’s also on PC lol
Please tell me you’re not an Xbox fan, making that comment. The irony would literally make me die of laughter lol
If the 4K on Pro isn’t 4K, then neither is X. Xbox fans suddenly love to reference DF, despite calling them biased for PS4 for the last 4 years, but they clearly ignore what they’re saying. The vast majority of those “superior multiplats” aren’t even native 4K on X, and the few that are have serious performance issues.
Ah Polygon... Who’d have thought that a site partially owned by MS would have a bias in favor of Xbone X. In other news, water is wet.
Gotta scrape the barrel for as many people as they can before the Xbox brand falls right back into obscurity in 2 months.
I would say that now is a great time for that to happen, but the issues revolving around Net Neutrality’s removal could put a huge damper on that. Right now, gigabit Internet is becoming more and more mainstream, but we’ve got dumbasses like Ajit Pai trying to convince us that 8 MBPS is perfectly fine.
Resistance 2 has the best competitive and cooperative multiplayer in the series; FoM had the best campaign. Resistance 3 was just an average game that tried desperately to be CoD.
Words spoken by someone who has never played Insomniac’s games.
As a hardcore fan of both Resistance 1 and 2, I can’t help but agree; this game was awful. Everything about it was a huge downgrade from Resistance 2, besides the slightly better graphics and weapon wheel. Really short and lackluster story that seemed to completely ignore the first two, co-op was only 2 player of the campaign instead of the amazing 8 player co-op, and the insanely fun 60-player battles got reduced to some 16-player CoD wannabe BS with little reason to keep playing after you q...
Uncharted 4 has a similar system with the DLC Gameplay chests, and they were all easy as hell to unlock without spending a dime. Since you obviously didn’t even read your own source, it explicitly says those new supply drops aren’t out yet, so they still don’t know how exactly they will work, and there’s no evidence that anything is locked behind a paywall/ affects progression like in BF2.
Woolly, you’re clearly not a PS4 owner, so if you’re not interested, why are you here?
His comment doesn’t even deserve that much credit; he’s bringing up CoD WW2, but the loot box systems from both games don’t even compare. CoD is purely cosmetic, while BF2 is directly linked to progression.
Your comment is BS, and you clearly haven’t even played CoD WW2. NOTHING in the supply drops (the loot boxes) is tied to progression. It’s all calling cards, pistol grip designs, weapon skins, and character outfits; ie it’s all cosmetic and has zero actual effect on the gameplay. Everything from weapons to weapon upgrades is still unlocked through ranking up, just like in every other CoD title of the last 10 years. The fact that you have to use loot boxes in BF2 to get upgrades for your weapo...
Might as well just add Battlefield to the list, since it’s obvious they won’t have learned crap by next fall.
@Summons No you can’t. All weapons, attachments, and killstreaks can only be unlocked through ranking up. The weapons you get out of loot boxes are merely pretty skins. They have no effect on the actual stats, with the exception of some giving you minor bonuses in Zombies, but that’s it. Actually play the game, and you’d know that.
