Holy guacamole Batman. Looking forward to those FY2017 results. The crazier part is PS4 will easily top it’s 2016 sales, but this might not even be its peak year yet. If Sony does some agressive bundling with games like GoW, Spider-Man, RDR2, and FC5, we could be looking at 2018 being its peak year on the market.
Not a single doubt that Switch will overtake PS4 in Japan. Not really eager to see how those two compete there as they cater to completely different demographics, and Japan is basically the portable gaming capitol of the world; I’m more interested in how PS4 will fare against PS3. If it can beat PS3’s numbers, it will at least show us that there is still a strong market for home consoles there.
The Adobe thing is nothing more than a prediction based off of online search results. It doesn’t reflect any actual numbers; just means that more people were searching it up. Until we see official numbers, the whole “Switch wins BF and CM!” articles are rumors at best.
But with TLoU2 hitting full production just this passed August, it’s safe to assume we might not have it in our hands for a while. If TLoU2 is PS4’s swan song, I’m fine with that because it means ND will have as much time as they need to make sure it’s perfect.
VGC had it at 1.5 million for Xbone retail version; SE said 7 million across all 3 platforms, retail + digital
I’m aware every fanboy argument now is all reactionary. The thing I notice is that the goal posts are moved by the Xbox fans almost weekly. They never stick by one thing. I’ve yet to hear any PS fans throughout this gen say exclusives don’t matter; third party titles were simply brought up because it was once again one of those things 360 fans touted as a reason for Xbox being better than PS3. Blame Xbox fans for that one. This site was the freakin gospel to them last gen. Now, they’re suddenly wrong because sales numbers aren’t making Xbox look good anymore.
It’s higher than GT6. Not great, but GT6 still went on to sell 6 million copies, despite the PS4 already being out. It’s likely that if Polyphony continues to support the game as well as they currently are, it will have some very strong sales legs. Not to mention, a potential Complete Edition somewhere down the road. GTS has pretty high potential to do some big numbers over time.
VGC numbers only track retail sales, plus SE clarified that a good portion of those numbers were from the PC version, ie numbers VGC really can’t track since the PC retail market is pretty much nonexistent. If you factor in all the potential digital sales, VGC’s figures weren’t far off at all. Overall this gen, they’ve actually been fairly spot on with their retail tracking. Their only questionable numbers have been Xbone, since we really have no idea where the console is sitting at in total ...
Ah, that tired old argument. And you think no one bought GTS Digital? Hate to break it to you, but PS4 and Xbone have the same digital attach ratio, unless you can somehow prove otherwise. In other words, when you say Forza 7 sold more digital, then the same logic is automatically applied to GTS. You have no ground to say that’s false.

Enjoying the “But but muh review scores!” cries coming from the Xbox fans. Last I heard, metacritic scores were too biased and irrelevant. Well, I guess since that suddenly matters again, you all accept the fact that The Last of Us Remastered is a better game than every Xbox exclusive to release since the original Halo.
Well, considering that 5 Times as many people are buying the “worse” game, your opinion on which is “better” clearly doesn’t represent the majority. I would say the whole “everyone knows Forza is better!” rhetoric is officially dead, but it was never alive to begin with.
Also, GT fans might’ve been waiting a while, but that’s also why the series isn’t suffering from severe franchise fatigue like Forza clearly is.
I don’t recall anyone ever saying that. We simply don’t declare BC an end all be all feature, nor would we accept Sony trying to remarked old games we’ve already played in an attempt to hide the fact that they’ve got nothing new that’s any good, like MS does. But hey, funny you mention that, since you Xbox cheerleaders are trying to claim Xbone has had a better year because of their holiday lineup, as if people can’t possibly be looking to buy a PS4 to play Horizon, Persona, or Uncharted.
