I owned a PS1 and a PS2 but after owning a 360 this gen there's no way I could go back to using a playstation pad now. I tried playing FIFA at a mates house on the duelshock and the sticks feel terrible compared to the 360 pad for a game as intricate as FIFA. Even after a few hours I still didn't like it, way too much movement In the sticks, meaning they feel too loose, the domed top is a bad idea my thumbs are too elevated giving me thumb ache after 10 minutes and the overall weight ...

The iPhone doesn't have flash and I've been viewing certain **cough** sites for years on there. Plenty of YouTube-a-like websites to cater to a certain type of gentleman (or lady)

I prefer ash to Miranda. Ash was hot in mass effect 1, didn't feature much in mass effect 2 and became a bit whiny in mass effect 3 but nothing beats Ashley's introduction to mass effect 1 when she shows up in full combat gear kicking a*se and then you realise she's this hot chick. Great introduction. Mirandas great too though felt a bit awful when I dumped her in ME3.

For new genres to open up I think we need to be fully immersed in a 3D world by incorporating headsets and kinect style control. Imagine in a shooter seeing the hands in front of you as your own but dressed in armour through viewing through the headset. Character movement would be a problem still but you could really apply this virtual world to all manor of new genres.

Immersion is the future, gaming through the tv feels too restrictive now.

For those questioning the power of ps4 and x720 I think it's a no brainer their new machines will easily surpass their current ones. Otherwise what's the point in having a new console. Nintendo will be left behind again in the arms race as 3rd party developers max out the new machines leaving the wii u with no game or dumbed down ports.

If the casuals don't take to wii u like they did the wii Nintendo could find themselves in a tricky position next gen

There still seems to be this disconnection between the AI populating the game and the buildings themselves though. You never see someone going inside or a face behind a window to make you think people are living their lives normally you just get the impression everyone is always outside in a kinda endless groundhog day limbo. And people who you can interact with just stand there all day and all night waiting for your character to talk to them. In assassins creed revelations a random would com...

So the general consensus is as follows. The most anticipated game: GTA5. Most overrated game GTA4. Mmmm ok. Whilst GTA4 had some issues it was still an amazing game. Not many games give you the freedom to go from being in an apartment one minute to hopping in a helicopter and flying over a living breathing city the next.

This whole online pass thing doesn't bother me. I rent a lot of my games these days unless they are something like skyrim, forza or GTA (ie massive and worth 40 quid). I recently got battlefield 3 sent through the post I played the single player realised I couldn't play the multiplayer so sent it back and got something else. I haven't lost out because I didn't know what I had missed. Had I have had access to the multiplayer and loved it I might have gone out and bought a retai...

The best thing about the Xbox controller is the positioning of the sticks. Nobody else dare copy that even if the wii u controller looks similar in every other way. After owning ps1 and ps2 and now a 360 there's no way I could ever use a playstation pad ever again it just feels wrong.

Do Nintendo think it wise to release a console similar to the 360? Aren't gamers waiting for the next gen, so who's going to buy a wii u? Not the hardcore and the casual market will ...

I prefered tomb raider when she actually raided some tombs and came across the odd bear, but was essentially alone in an undiscovered locale. When they introduced Lara to shooting mainly people and in large numbers the game lost its unique identity then. (probably around tomb raider 3).

It's a shame nobody wants to make games where the sole emphasis is about exploration or raiding tombs anymore, you know as it is actually the title to the franchise but I guess games whe...

I believe it will be more powerful than the 360 and the ps3. This matters not when the ps4 and 720 roll into town and Nintendo once again can't join in with multiplatform releases due to having a machine under powered compared to its rivals.

And that is a fact

This is all well and good, but first lets provide a broadband service that doesn't go down every now and then and can play a HD YouTube video without having to wait half a day for it to load.

Or in other words there's no way the infrastructure is in place for this to take off worldwide for many years to come yet. The Yanks need to realise there are other places in the world where their citizens who currently play Xbox and playstation games wouldn't be able to gam...

I'm not having LA noire banded as a rockstar game. It wasn't so it doesn't count. They had some input into it as a publisher because team bondi were making a pigs ear of it and it showed in the final product. Red dead redemption was good but if you remove the rose tinted glasses for a moment a lot of the missions were very similar to each other and the shooting mechanics left a lot to be desired.

Moving onto GTA the last really great one was vice city. The consen...

Every time the next gen hits we get told the same thing. Games cost more to make blah blah blah it will cost more for the games blah blah blah.

no they wont they will cost exactly the same as they do now, maybe the big franchises like fifa and call of duty will try and rob a few extra quid out of the sheeple who cant miss their yearly updates but everything else will remain as is because there is only so much people will pay to be entertained.

Internet speeds and usage caps mean this is not only unlikely it practically
has 0% chance of happening.

No brand is strong enough to remove themselves entirely from the physical retail market. What about the game industries biggest few weeks?? Christmas: lots of lost sales as all the mums and grandmas don't understand how it works and they can't just pick a box up in a store. Lots of lost sales lots of ps3s bought.

Not a chance

Sounds like a 360 swansong and a bit of extra cash towards the next gen release to me.

I wonder if it still has conveniently placed 3 foot high walls to hide behind every time you are going to be engaged in combat.

I thought that was a big let down of the first two games. The levels in ME3 need to be more organic
