All of a sudden the backwards compatibility of the next gen machines is suddenly relevant as dlc for this will surely be dropping post release of the PS4 and 720.

Yeah I really think people who quit should be locked out of online play for an hour or something. The trouble with fifa in particular is its the sort of game that attracts teenage boys who haven't grown up enough yet to accept they can't win at everything in life and learn to accept defeat sometimes, rather than throwing a tantrum and disconnecting.
I couldn't care less about backwards compatability, ill have played all this gens games I want to play before buying a next gen machine anyway.

I tend to agree. Obviously people get used to what they use and think that's the only way to go but the proof is in the pudding as they say. And when I've played Xbox for hours on end my hands feel as fresh as the moment I picked up the controller. After about two hours of playing on a friends ps3 my left thumb was aching from having to reach an unnatural position to control the joystick and I would say I have an average hand size.

Half life 3 will be out on next gen consoles, PC and steam box you wait and see. As soon as Microsoft and Sony reveal their new machines I expect an announcement from valve to follow shortly after. Maybe at e3.
There's no way a franchise as big as half life won't get a new game but I think they were waiting for new tech to wow us with like they did with the physics of the gravity gun in half life 2.

I like Xbox live but don't like the prices they charge for games on demand. And it bugs me ps3 users get free games and we don't too. I think they should let people play online for free next gen but give perks to gold members. Maybe a free movie once a month to stream or a game that's a couple of years old for free. The mass effect ending was one of the best things in gaming this year for me. I don't know if its because I played all three games one after the other so had the events fresher in my mind but I totally got the ending and thought it was incredibly clever. I can understand some people not getting it but for it to be universally trashed I find confusing.

These amateur PC gamers with their F5 fallback. Far cry 3 isn't that hard once you get the hang of its mechanics, i'm playing on console but never have I had an issue with where the game saves. It saves automatically at every tough bit anyway but for pussies click start button scroll to save, select a slot and save how hard can it be?
When ps1 and ps2 were out the Japanese were the king of the world when it came to making quality games. Now the USA have the best game studios so ill stick with Microsoft into next gen too I think. I just feel like my western tastes are more catered for on the Xbox. Sure some ps3 exclusives like uncharted look cool but ill live without it to be able to play forza, gears etc and of course tomb raider in multi platform is going to give drake a run for his money anyway.

Just think how big the gta map is going to be compared to a more linear experience like uncharted and then think how many people it takes to create something that size in that amount of detail. That's where the money goes, that and creating the assets to populate a world that size with.
