Looking at Amazon UK's xbox one pre-orders so far, it's not going to do do very well with pre-orders at all.
While the ps4 is the 3rd best selling video game item of 2013 so far (behind only TLOU and Live Gold), the xbox one is a long way back at number 47 (day one) and 71 (standard edition). To put that into context, the xbox one has so far sold less than the ABBA dance game on Wii or the 3DS power adapter... it's clearly not going to come anywhere near matching ...

You've gotta think though, a 500GB HDD would fill up so quickly with the previously proposed method of installing each game.
I'm not sure how much room the OSs/system software take up themselves, I think the Blu Ray disc used can hold about 50GB, so potentially you might have been looking at only around 10 or less games installed at one time.

If a review system has a maximum score of 100 there is plenty to work with and that fine line between great and exceptional can be conveyed. When you mark out of 10 you have to do that last part in your write up, not just a number.
Moan and whine that sites review games out of 5 and 10, but not for them giving 5/5 and 10/10 scores.
Pre-order levels are insignificant vs the amount of availability Sony has been able to offer.
It's very easy to "sell out" when you only get a few available for pre-order.

ms cannot come out with a "kinectless" sku, it's integral to the functionality of the unit. Although we've seen some "impressive" 180s so far, we can't rule out any further flipping and flopping.
It's hourly but only takes into account very recent activity. Look at the 2013 year to date sales and you will see ps4 is killing it:
