Basically he says it's not the technology but what people do with it, then lists a load of things Sony are already well known for and maybe one thing the xbox one has going for it based on current gen.
No idea how many 100s of hours I've put into the Disgaea games. If I was only allowed to play a single game on one system for the rest of my life, it'd be Disgaea on the ps2.

This just highlights the uphill struggle ms are going to have with the xbox one. It must have been pretty horrendous for the devs to have to hear that.

Thing with Pachter is he can really get under your skin and annoy you with some of his predictions. A few years ago I read something I disagreed with so much I looked him up on his company's site and sent him a message telling him what I thought of his predictions. All the speculation was laughable tbh, it really was bizarre to see people reading all kinds of fantasy land nonsense into what it could be.
If there was something ground-breakingly big, it wouldn't have been done via twitter/facebook and in such a way. As it is, fans of the games are really happy, I'm happy for them!

@MichaelLito79 For the reason I stated above - you don't actually know that both machines -will- have a good start, only that they will both sell the allotted pre-order numbers... that could be 2,000 units, 20,000 units, 200,000 units or 2 million... until sales data is released, nobody knows just how good it will be and the games industry's excellent news will have to wait.
Well to be fair when the next generation consoles drop, the current gen games are usually the best of their whole generation and better games than the first batch of launch titles. I wasn't massively impressed with much on ps2 or ps3 in the first few weeks being on sale.
Thing is, the ps4's launch lineup is looking very strong, deverse and compelling.
ps2 was still being made after 10 years and supported with software for longer.
ps3 will be 7 years old when ps4 drops , it's not difficult to see such a device lasting and being supported for another 3, if not mainly in the traditional markets. People suggested the ps2 would be dropped a lot sooner than it was, but a huge game library and a demand for a cheap and fun console saw it live a full life on the shelves.

The news that the machines are both going to be sold out is no guarantee that they will be selling well, only selling the volume offered for pre-order. OK, Sony seems to have offered massive quantities, but it's very hard to see how many ms are offering. Hold fire on your "excellent news" remark.
Not convinced. Although, if this too let's you sit on the couch and do nothing in order to complete the game and become super fit in the process, you might be right.
