Once you watch HD media going back to standard just looks like crap. I watch a lot of HD sports, when the game I want is not in HD it looks like some one who is blind was filming the event (it's a blur in comparison). If you have ever watched DVD then went back to VHS to watch a movie, it's a similar result to go from HD to standard.
I hear where you are coming from, the only reason I bought a 360 is the fact I got a huge discount on a used one, the video market place is nothing special, Comcast's On demand is a much more interesting in my opinion.
A bunch of PS3 games have in-game custom soundtracks including; High velocity bowling, Super Stardust HD, MLB 08' the show, Burnout Paradise (ver 1.3), Wipeout HD (confirmed by SCEA).
If you ever listen to many directors commentary's, especially Ridley Scott's Blade Runner, many directors in motion pictures typically wish they could have omitted/made changes to the movies after they all ready came out. Hence why theres so many "cuts" of Blade Runner.
Kojima JR has disliked all of his fathers games, they even talk about it in the Metal Gear Saga Vol.2 disc (The pre-order one with the MGO beta inside)
Microsoft was the originator of motion based controllers (Sidewinder freestyle pro game pad for PC, 1998). Then when the Wii came out they quoted that motion controls were dead and that was why they would not implement them into the 360 (do to past mistakes, i.e. the freestyle pro, which was a flop). Way to eat your words Microsoft, just like what Sony said about no rumble in the original Sixaxis controller.
In the end you are only paying for the disc which is about $22 if you consider rental fee (at msrp of ~$30). But w/ the 360 if you don't have it hard-wired (plugged in to connect to the internet) you have to buy the wireless adapter for $90 (I got one direct from MS on the cheap though). And don't forget about buying points, it is a ridiculous process for credit card if you don't use point cards ($12.50 = 1000 pts by credit card, not like the 1400 for $20 at retail). At least the PSN lets you...
This could be Sony Gamer Day 2008, it's in Europe this year in May. Last year in LA SCE dropped the bombshell on a few PS3 games including Socom Confrontation.
Thats two fires to my account for Xbox consoles, one for the faulty power cable on the original, and two this 360. HA!
I agree, Microsoft screws a lot of things up often. For example, charging $180 for a 120GB HDD when MS thinks that HD digital d/l'ing is going to prevail(when over 95% of 360 users have 20gb or lower), maybe in 10 years. Two really important aspects of the Digital d/l "war"; one, you can not resell/return/trade downloaded media (DRM is not going away anytime soon) two, people like to own movies and have physical copies in pristine full quality (PS, digital copy and digital transfer...
The prologue install with patch is around ~35+ mins, the MGO patch was just as bad if not worse in terms of wait time
Yup the SSHD DLC came, and was included in the new playstation store for $4.99, odd since all the new content is coming on Thursday (I want "stay alive" now!)
Are you a GAP member, just curious. Figured I would add you to my friends list, I'm: DevonTheDude on the PSN
Microsoft has been unforthcoming about the bonuses they are including with GTA 4 on 360, they are digging their own grave not advertising these three reasons to buy on 360 (I'm personally buying on PS3).
1. DLC (obvious)
2. Free Month of Live Gold (confirmed by Gamestop)
3. 800 Free Live Marketplace points (confirmed by Kotaku)
why they aren't marketing this is anyones guess
No problem man, I noticed they have a section in Pain for DLC too (but there already is dlc for Pain so nothing new there) I heard that Pixel Junk Monsters is supposed to be getting DLC too (look at the video posted on the Playstation blog about 2.3, you can see the DLC on the Bravia displaying the new PS store, and Grace mentions the PJM DLC too)
Sports games benefit from in game ads, it makes it like a real broadcast of that sport. FPS games don't need it, RSV had blatant Axe ads that pissed me off but most great games don't have ads.
The funniest ad I have seen lately is the Compusa ads in Burnout Paradise, right after they filed for bankruptcy their ad was visible in the demo and in the final game.
""RRoD - Keeps players on their toes when it comes to saving 100hours of gameplay. Creates an "on-the-edge" experience." "
This is the biggest joke I have ever heard, that sounds like the HD-DVD fanboys when their ship was sinking a few months back.
I have a 360 and PS3, that is the most idiotic comment I have ever read.
The only thing I will agree with is the exclusive DLC, Sony is rumored to have Exclusive GTA 4 DLC after all of Microsoft's packs come out though. As for the in-game messaging and custom soundtracks (why when GTA is known for great music); in-game XMB is right around the corner so for a month or two it will be an issue then it will be forgoten. The Achievements agreement is just plain dumb since many (late 07' and 08')PS3 games (both third and first party) have either Accomplishments (which a...
Way to be 3 days late G4, the Feed isn't very current then
I agree he is good as a financial analyst, but his opinions related to game development are another story.
