It's a psycological thing...they weren't held enough by their mothers when they were babies.
The xbox logo sticker pushed it over the edge for me, I gotta have one of those stickers so now I have to get the Xbox One, dang it!!
Looks like a solid TPS strategy game, but I am afraid it will have poor sales regardless of critic reception. Everyone is focusing on next-gen now and a fringe title like this will not even get a fair chance.
I don't buy it. MS is getting 500 million to one billion a year in gold memberships alone. They receive a percentage of every game sold for that platform (I believe it's around 8%) so 360 has sold an estimated 770 million physical game copies lifetime (yeah its VGChartz but this is just estimate anyways)this is nearly 6 billion in just game sale fees, which does not include publisher percentages on their first party titles or digital game sales.
Kinect was a day one...
They were onto something with KOTOR but outsourced the sequel. They had a promising IP in Jade Empire and Bioware nor Microstop never did anything with it.
I am excited and played the heck out of SSD and Dead Nation would purchase their sequels. Have looked at Outland a few times but haven't picked up because of game backlog. They make great arcade titles.
I don't worry about Sony's hardware so PS4 day one for me, but I think after the RROD on the 360 it would be wise to wait a few months. I remember six months after 360 came out MS released the Elite version, wonder if they will do the same for X1 and launch a superior model months after launch. I would wait on the X1.
Got it for 360, I don't have a PC just a work laptop, I can't use for games. The $40 was for the strategy guide it is out of print and getting really hard to find, new copies are going for up to a $160 dollars cause you just can't find them, but I was lucky and found a used guide in nearly new condition.
Oh stop let the madness stop. We have gone from the PR talk over the last couple years "We have pushed the 360 and PS3 to their max" to now they are pushing unreleased consoles to their limits already. Haven't rumors the last week been about MS adding extra mhz to One's GPU and yet these guys have found the end of the rainbow and looted its treasures already. I would like an honest non-transparent PR talk for once from developers, it would be refreshing.
I see it being a struggle for console developers who focused on the PowerPC design of the 360 and/or the Cell design of the PS3.
Sigh...it has been a great run this generation, but as the next generation is only a few months away, the titles I want to buy for on my current consoles narrows. I am down to only three games left for me. Diablo 3, Lords of Shadow 2, and Dark Souls 2 after that I am all about next gen, but this has been the best gen ever, so many great new ip's over the last 8 years and a large expansion in the market and community, it is sad to see it go.
This maybe a great game, but it will fail miserably, I see little interest, no hype, and little marketing. I enjoyed the first even though the controls were clunky as hell, but after the awful design of LP2 I see no outcry for a third. Wonder why it was green lit in the first place? It's not going to sell many copies.
I just picked up Witcher 2 for 360 a friend of mine recommended it. Also picked up the strategy guide which is OOP and cost nearly $40 used, but I wasn't about to pay $160 on amazon for new copy. Looking forward to playing it soon.
Great list but I would make a few changes. I would switch out Gears 2 over Gears 1, it was the best in the series. Instead of Uncharted 3 and Borderlands I would pick the original Bioshock and Skyrim.

Crytek has stated the QTE button prompts will be going away, that was to demo at E3. They are to be replaced with audio and visual cues for such inputs. I think its design is a split between Gears of War and God of War it may actually surprise many gamres in how it plays.
That said I am most excited the Gladitor mode where you and a coop partner battle together against wave after wave of enemies in an ancient Rome Colosium setting. Which sounds ins...
This does look great, creepy, and intense. It feels like the right atmosphere with graphics and sound. Really looking forward to this one. I thought Mikami's Shadows of the Damned was a fun little game was well for anyone that didn't play it.
I think franchise fatigue is starting to set in on COD
Fair enough, but wouldn't Crysis 3 vs BF4 in this case been more fair. I thought Crysis 3 was graphically superior to 2 and was a newer use of the CryEngine 3 and its underlining systems, which would seem like a better compare.
Heck they even had to patch in DirectX 11 after launch of Crysis 2.
Regardless of any criticism I did enjoy reading the article.
Umm why are they using an older game like Crysis 2 with the older CryEngine to compare that engine to BF4 which hasn't come out yet and is using a new Frostbite 3 engine.
I also think the article is wrong because I thought Crysis 2 used CryEngine 2 and Crysis 3 used CryEngine 3. So why why are they using Crysis 2 instead of Crysis 3 to compare?
Anyways, it seems kinda meaningless to me. Maybe they should be comparing the graphics in Ryse to BF4 instead o...
As I have been saying since reveal, it doesn't look like a Splinter Cell game, it looks all COD like and with no Michael Ironside, it doesn't feel like one either. I won't buy this and I am sure many others feel the same. Bring back Ironside and we can talk.
