Mass Effect is a little bit Star Trek and a little bit Star Wars. Star Trek concentrates on a team of humans and their struggles in the galaxy, with humans being the proven heros in most scenerios. Star Wars adds mysticism and politics to the equation and always acknowledges races other than humans that contribute to the galaxy.
Mass Effect takes cues from both, being as mystical as Star Wars and as heroic as Star Trek.
As for comparions between the two, both games are going to be worth 2 of every penny you spent on them.
In my obervations, Forza Motorsport (and Xbox Live) has and will continue to prove that:
-Photo-realistic graphics and accurate physics are more than possible on Xbox 360
-Community matters. Online gaming matters. This is the new gen, hence we should be seeing new things, not just old formulas
-Xbox Live was and always will be a gr...
GT: the real "driving" simulator
Forza: the definitive RACING GAME of this gen ;)
True, they managed to slim down those consoles very well. But they did so without cutting out important features.
To do it to a PS3, which launched at $600 might I remind you, would be very difficult. USB, memory stick readers, wifi, bluetooth, 1Gb ethernet won't be the problem, nor will they add up to much in savings. It's the mainboard that takes a chunk of the production costs. And the PS3 chipset that consists of a processor that IBM would still like to see profits from, th...
A 30lb desktop always costs LESS to build than a 5lb laptop, even if you have to add the cost of speakers keyboard and monitor. Going smaller (or slimmer) doesn't necessarily mean cheaper. They have to build things tighter and usually that means that they need to build everything inisde to custom fit.
"borg" should not be a word. cyborg is two words, cybernetic organism. so to split cyborg would leave you with org, since the b belongs to the word cyber.
sorry, i'm a stickler for grammatical correctness.
i just got done commenting on how it wouldn't be possible in another thread.
if they go for it i hope they're ready to go all-in...psp and ds are way too established and they have a lot of companies tied up to support one or the other.
I wouldn't completely rule it out, but I doubt that they'll get much support. Sony struggled just for the games it has, whereas DS is practically showered with love. So where does that leave room for Microsoft?
Also they already announced the Zune HD some time ago and that it would have possible inclusion of Xbox Live Arcade games, so that one's already outta the bag. Microsoft can't really enter the portable gaming market this gen. And if they tried it would be poor timing, DS ...

Halo 3's only real competition was Call of Duty 4 and KillZone 2. PS3 fanboys might disagree...
Resolution aside, Halo 3 delivers the gameplay that the competition can't. With over 400 manufacturers, er, 400 cars from 50 different manufacturers...
...wait, where am I? Yeah, I have Forza MS 3 on the brain right now sorry :-P
You think Justin Long is up there on stage for free? Apple pays him to advertise and promote Mac.
These commercials make more sense: they're BUYING you a laptop! Apple doesn't do anything like that for their customers with their commercials. At least Microsoft will shell out a measly $700 that Apple probably throws away on more gloat ads.
I think that's baloney, Mac's screens are nice but they aren't twice-the-price nice. Why not buy 2 instead of one ridiculously overpriced machine?
Apple can price their OS cheaper than Vista and XP but their hardware is always more expensive.
There's nothing in a Mac that isn't in a PC, besides an Apple OS and BIOS. They use the same processors now, the same graphics, and even the same connectivity options (USB, Firewire, Gb Ethernet, 802.11b/g/n, etc). If you're willing to pay more for the "illusion" of higher quality then you're just lying to yourself.
Even if Apple builds the machine in USA the pa...
"If you sit a Dell Laptop and a Macbook Pro side by side, the difference in weight, sturdiness, noise, heat, and battery life are pretty astounding."
Well actually the difference is more about looks than what's inside. All C2D processors and chipsets use around the same power and produce about the same temps.
PC laptops will have nearly identical motherboard layout, ports on the left and right edges, speaker/mic headers on the front edge, etc. Generally HP ...
a new TV service would mean less content and more time just catching up to something that's already well established, sorta like PSN and XBL :D
Also Hulu works great on PC...so use it! And for those who like 50" big screens, just get a GPU that has HDMI and voila, your entertainment center is whole again :)
I roughly get what you mean, that PC users will only be their secondary audience and that broadcast TV is still what these networks want.
The problem is this is a digital world. And the customer WILL win in the end, so if more people start watching on their PCs then the big guys will take notice.
I hardly watch any "normal" TV anymore and I know millions who'll say the same thing. We don't adhere to networks "programming" OUR days into THEIR sched...
I guess in the end satisfying the customer is what it's all about. I'm sorry to hear that you guys have moved on and that Xbox 360 didn't do it for you guys.
It's a lesson: keep this up and you'll keep losing customers.
Eww, they're not exactly scrambling at the last minute. Don said that they were "confident of a second place finish". They know Nintendo won this gen and that they're just fighting for the second spot.
Project Natal is just a grand re-opening. It'll help to freshen Xbox 360's image and at the same time help it compete with the Wii but it won't really overshadow the Wii.
The difference between a vehicle from BMW and one from Kia is price and performance. But both are scaling together...if Kia offered a vehicle of the same performance of a BMW it would be around the same price. The laws of comparable and competitive pricing will always keep it that way.
You also have to factor in things like customer satisfaction and warranty service. I think the maintenance bills alone on a BMW would cripple most. You guys forget that you have to take care of the...
The general concensus is that if you ask any original Star Wars fan (read PURIST) they'll tell you that the prequels don't stand up as well as the original movies.
I liked the prequels as movies, they showed off the incredible progression of CGI for their time. And that was ALWAYS Lucas's goal when he did something: to do it BIG, to do it EPIC, and to do it STATE OF THE ART.
