Here’s how the 2 consoles stack up against each other in terms of power: -Memory
*both consoles have about the same amount of memory, with the exception that Xenos has a a dedicated 10MB of EDRAM.
PS3: 256MB XDR + 256MB GDDR3. Having memory split between the two main processors has advantages and disadvantages. The main disadvantage is that workloads will always have to be smaller to fit into the main system, since each pool is hardwire programmed to be DEDICAT...
Nobody lied, Wolf. A lot of people just got confused with what happens in the system versus what gets put on screen.
Besides, remember how Sony promised all games 1080p 60fps?
Anyway, I'm pretty disappointed. If Lost Planet can be 1280x720 with 4x MSAA then I don't see why Halo 3/ODST can't either. I guess it's just how Bungie has developed their engine, I did read somewhere that it has to do with their HDR lighting engine and how many actual render passes it goes th...
It's not a DMC wannabe, it's just that it fits in the genre pretty easy. I think it's going to be a good game honestly, since it's got a lot of action...maybe too much stylish flair, lol. Bayonetta should hopefully get a demo, I'd like to try it out someday.
As for the Bayonetta themed Xbox 360, the winner is going to be one lucky gamer. It's actually the best themed Xbox 360 I've seen yet! Well besides the GTA IV Xbox 360, that one's nice.
...Zune Video on Xbox Live Could STILL Finish Blu-Ray :)
You PS3 fanboys are such a difficult species to understand.

I'm thinking this may just be the time in our history where Xbox 360 flexes some major monolithic power and suddenly all else seems dwarfed in comparison.
Forza Motorsport 3 and Splinter Cell Conviction...it's okay to feel jealous, you're only $199 away from playing these games :)
I have mine preordered already but if you haven't that's cool. You don't really need to buy the OS unless you plan on building your own system or upgrading to 7 from your old OS. Most of you will be just fine getting it preinstalled via OEM.
...I've actually gotten along so well with Vista that I really don't see a reason (personally) to upgrade to it right away, though I've already done my fair share of testing with the betas and the RC.
I have 4 rpgs, 3 racers, 3 fighting games, 5 third person shooters (one's an rpg as well), 1 first person shooter (the only one I'll ever need), 3 action adventure, and 1 rts.
Xbox 360 has games in every genre. In fact it has HIGHLY RATED GAMES in every genre.
Everyone can agree that they've made such an INCREDIBLE progress despite what they lost with the first Xbox. Anyone who says differently isn't getting the picture.
Sony and Microsoft made a mistake not taking Nintendo seriously...Sony also made a mistake not taking Microsoft seriously as well. They underestimated the power of Xbox this gen. Nothing changes the fact that Microsoft is a real contender and that Xbox is here to stay. And to say that they've not changed is pure crap, ...
Nathan I'll give you the benefit of the doubt here since it's not you who wrote the article you linked to. But if you BELIEVE what you've read then you're wrong.
I don't link to pages, I form my own educated conclusion based on facts. I didn't bash PS3 anywhere in my above post, all I was trying to prove was that it's a common misconception that PS3 is miles ahead of Xbox 360.
Xbox 360 has consistently produced generation leading visuals.

I suggest you try the RC, it's free and good until March anyway. And you'll be surprised at how quickly Microsoft kicked themselves in the balls to make 7 much better than Vista. Consider 7 as good customer service and actually listening to feedback.
After all the bashing of Vista you do have to give it credit for looking so sharp. I've used it just fine on 3 different computers although I wouldn't recommend it if you have an older computer.
I think the experience goes along with the system: if you're trying to get something new to work with something old then you shouldn't set your hopes too high. With that said, even to run without Aero still gets you a superb OS. And that goes for both Vista and 7, though I've actually had...
I'm running it right now :) On an old desktop too, and even still the whole system feels NEWER than when I first installed XP on it! Whoa! :O
Oh, and I need a prayer right now guys...my laptop's motherboard went out on me yesterday. 2 years and I've finally succumbed to the g84/86 problems that I've been hearing all about :\ oh well.
On a side note, I believe it's Capcom with their MT Framework Engine that's come the closest to utilizing Xbox 360's full potential. A lot of developers have been able to make good work with either Xenos or Xenon. But Capcom has been able to build a game engine that both takes advantage of the multhithreading capabilities of 360's CPU AND the flexibility and strength of 360's unified shader GPU. They've also been able to utilize the extremely high efficient daughter die to hit the ideal targe...
What determines how good the game looks is the system itself as a whole and how developers can use the power they've been given. Not just the storage medium.
-Memory
*both consoles have about the same amount of memory, with the exception that having unified memory makes Xbox 360 able to handle larger memory demands.
The list was solid :) I agree that Last Remnant was an awesome game, for the NEW age rpg gamers out there it's certainly something great to experience from a company that knows how to make rpgs.
Note: the title says Top Fifteen "Square-Enix" games of all time, so does he mean after their merger or before? Because a lot of them were before, and only one game on the list came from Enix before. They should just say Square or Squaresoft (FF-X and Kingdom Hearts were before,...
I remember first playing co-op through Gears on Insane back in 2006. It was really fun and challenging and personally to me it was one of the most fun times I've ever had in a split screen game period.
RE5 was a great game but in adding co-op they really messed with the gameplay :\ But you have to remember that this co-op thing was also done in RE4 (with Ashley) and even RE Zero (Billy and Rebecca).
Splitscreen isn't dead, but I do think RE 4 and Zero did it much bet...

Still exclusive on Xbox 360, anything else is speculation.
