PS3 has put Sony in the worst position thus far: it's expensive to build and its hardware is so exclusive that it's the only way IBM makes money off of CellBE and the XDR memory. Even having bluray hurts because if all people wanted was a movie player they'd buy one, and having those players go down in value means PS3 won't represent the best value later on (which is when sales will become their greatest due to how much time the format has been on the market).

The original Xbox held on pretty strong since it had DVD playback, which was something critical for PS2 purchases back then. If not for that we could've seen Xbox fail within 2 years of launch, though it had great games PS2 just picked up steam too quickly and took off running.
It's great that Microsoft was able to keep going though, since all of their best ideas from the first Xbox brought them huge success with 360. Now who's leading the pack...reversal of fortune people :)
All Forza MS 3 needs for me to love it now is a damn good soundtrack. Cars need tunes. And I loves my trance and techno too.
It would be just awesome if Sony extreme PS3 fanboys would be chill for a moment and admit that Turn 10 came around pretty solid to where they are now.

True, and yes. It just may not look like it on the outside, but from the INSIDE Halo 3 was revolutionary with its dual HDR/LDR rendering. It rendered the scene with 2 passes for its lighting, which ANYONE who's played the game can tell you makes Halo 3's lighting just spectacular.
Remember that, not everything that makes up a next gen game is immediately visible.

We're the customer, all that should matter to us is how much value we can get for our dollars. Everybody's console is their investment, usually for the next few years. After you've made the purchase at that point all you want are the games.
Lol, anyway what matters is how developers chose to work with what they've got. There are some amazing developers on both sides, and I have to really give Naughtydog some major respect for making it awesome for gamers who own a PS3. And I also have to give Capcom major respect for being able to fully utilize both consoles to their best with their multiplatform engine.

PS3: 256MB XDR + 256MB GDDR3. Having memory split between the two main processors has advantages and disadvantages. The main disadvantage is that workloads will always have to be smaller to fit into the main system, since each pool is hardwire programmed to be DEDICATED to its respective component.
