I have the feeling you read my comment the wrong way.

The bottom line of my comment reaches the same conclusion as yours.

I didn't said it specifically, but I thought it was pretty obvious, that I'm talking about the typical 'AAA' game of big publishers and their process. I also didn't specify where the costs come from.

The development budget is but a fraction of the actual cost of a high pro...

That's the issue in a nut shell.

Games are getting more and more expensive to make. And every hour a game is not released the company loses money.

These opposing points are the cause for the lot of problems and foul compromises we as consumers get to deal with afterwards.

Honestly speaking, I think the big publisher model a la Ubisoft, EA has reached a dead end.

Well name me interested!

(btw looking very much forward to Pillars of Eternity and Torment: Tides of Numenera)

@ bansai

The texture quality is in fact the same. That the graphics appear to be different is due to the lighting. The shot you are pointing out features a lot of light. That leads to few shadows, what in turn leads to the impression the fidelity is reduced.

for example these shots from the same trailer tell a completely different story, simply because of a more favourable light/view angle.

I can see a difference, but I couldn't say one looks better or worse than the other TBH.

But they certainly moved a few rocks in the background XD.

Love it!

I'm glad he did. The two released BGMs and bits from th other trailers are insanely awesome. His style fits flawlessly with art and style of this game as did Yoko Shimomura, ACE+, Manami Kiyota and Yasunori Mitsuda for the original Xenoblade.

Edit:
Just in case someone wonders. The two released BGMs can be found on the official website xenobladex.jp. Just click (music)'on'.

And I encourage gamers not only to look at consoles, but also to give PC-gaming a chance and vice versa.

TBH most of these games I don't buy for other systems either.

The low battery live of the Wii U pad is frustrating, but what really gets my blood boiling are the little things, like that you can't use the Wii U pro controller for Wii games or that the pad can't be set to stay turned off when switching on the system, thus it only turns on when it's needed.

I'm a PC enthusiast, but that headline makes me cringe.

Rubbing my hands for this.

Most anticipated game for me!

6 is an odd number too.

Usually people install 4, 8, 16 or so.

TBH think they could have gone with 8GB ram min :/

Another Eternal Darkness would be so awesome!

Damn, forgot the most important one:

Spec Ops: The Line

4057d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

It's not so simple.

Books, movies, TV-shows, games... are all different formats.

They all have their individual strengths in how to tell a story. Depending on the story itself, one format might be a better fit than an other.

Consequently, there are/will be stories that are best told via a video game rather than an other format. Spec Ops: The Line would be an example.

Deus Ex, Xenoblade Chronicles, Metal Gear Solid 3 and Planescape: Torment would be my picks.

Xenoblade X!
