I'm pretty sure the issue here is more connected to PGI's past (*cough* MWO) than it is to Star Citizen.
I have to use my last bubble and I'm not sure if I'm the right person for this, but I'll try:
Many modern games today, regardless of genre and particular that of big publishers, tend to be rather linear, short in content and in some form restrictive. Often they focus only on one or few aspects that make a game (mostly graphics).
Xenoblade excels in every one of them (IMO) except in graphics due to limitations of the Wii (not to confuse with art de...
In respect to the article:
Nice article overall, but Monolith Soft is NOT, I repeat, is NOT a second party developer! It's FIRST party today. Or more precisely an external first party software development subsidiary.

I really don't understand, where people get this idea from. Only because Game Freak is second pa...
I was so sad when I realized that I had missed out on preordering a first print edition and they were all sold out. :,(
Then my little brother told me yesterday he has already preordered two. One for him and one for me! :D
To me Xenoblade for the original Wii was a fu*king eye opener! One that taught me I can still enjoy games. One of very few games I consider true progress in game making of the entire last generation.
Agree. FFVI holds a special spot in the hall of fame of JRPGs. But I'm not sure everybody would rate it higher than Chrono Trigger. Comes down to taste I guess.
Why have so many not played Planescape Torment? A game that was way ahead of it's time and that I consider the "Goethe's Faust" of gaming.
Why are so many people into primitive first person shooters and not into sophisticated ones?
Edit: This is not necessarily an accusation btw
Very good interview. Props to the interviewer and thanks to Mr. Roberts.
I dare to say that Xenoblade has something that most alleged 'next gen' games don't have to this date.
More exploration? Well that is what I missed dearly in this game :/
Without any doubt a well crafted piece and very nice gesture.
With Mario Kart 8, Bayonetta 2, SSB and Xenoblade Chronicles X, the Wii U for me is a must own console.
@700p
PC has it's own exclusives too you know.
- Arma 3
- Total War Rome II
- Star Citizen
- Amnesia
- Starcraft 2
- Company of Heroes 2
- Planetary Annihilation
- ...
just to name a few
Is not nearly every major release of a big publisher hyped up beyond good and evil?
I think there are way to many fist fighters in SSB/s
man, what a retarded article...
Fine they added a few characters that carry a sword or sword-like weapon as part of their signature equipment(in most cases among other weapons)... so fu*king what?!
I'm getting the limited edition regardless, but Wow, that's a mighty disappointment. Well, I mean the hole thing sounded to good to be true in the first place, but they really could have got this "clarification" out a lot sooner. People are under the impression since E3 in june now that they are getting Bayo1 bundled with Bayo2. I really can't blame anyone now who is going to be upset about this.
Nice remix!
Xenoblade has such a rich OST. Can't wait to hear the tracks in SSB.
Super stoked for X as well!
Trough out the years I've more and more moved from console gaming towards PC gaming. But not for the reasons mentioned in this article.
My reasons are
- I enjoy building my own machine
- I like having control over what hardware and software gets installed.
- I enjoy playing with keyboard and mouse, but I also like having the choice to plug in a controller, joystick or HOTAS.
- I like that I don't have to pay a monthly fee to play the ga...
Now we're talking!
The amount of idiocy in this play is mindboggling. I mean not only have these people managed to ruin their own reputation and that of their party, but managed to belittle legitimate harassment and threats and put them at risk of not being taken seriously anymore.
