I understand it was necessary to balance the Infinity Engine games a little. Else the list might have been:
1. Planscape Torment
2. Baldur's Gate II (incl. Throne of Bhaal)
3. Baldur's Gate I (inlc. Tales of the Swordcoast)
4. Ice Wind Dale I
5. Ice Wind Dale II
Well at least mine. Lol
That being said, can't wait for Pilars of Eternity and Torment: Tides of Numenera!
I was about to post, that if this list doesn't feature Planescape: Torment, it would be an automated fail. Fortunately I don't have to ;)
Formerly being a fanatic Mass Effect fan with ME1, I now look down on the series with disgust, when thinking of what they have turned it into first with ME2 and finally with ME3.
If this list would also feature jrpgs, my top choice would be either Xenogears or Xenoblade closly followed by FFVI.
"feed[ing] mediocrity because of specs and hype" - State of the gaming industry in a nutshell.
That sentence alone deserves an agree.
He doesn't have to care about sales. That's Nintendo's problem. All he needs to care about, is that Bayo2 is a top notch game and of high quality, so that the fans that appreciate the effort can truly enjoy it.
Xenoblade, hands down.
And my heart sank...
If it doesn't sell well in japan, I won't buy it either! /s
Don't be scared. Embrace the game for what it is when it ships and not for what it might or might not be. Just relax and keep your hype at a reasonable level.
The graphics look very good!
The dynamic combat animations look cool too.
From what has been shown so far it looks like they are trying to design their areas less linear, what is most important to me. Other that I don't like the design of the main characters, I have no complaint yet.
They could cut a good healthy piece out of that fat marketing budget and add it to that little one that actually goes into the development of the game.
Instead of over hyping it, they could let the game speak for itself.
Just beautiful.
These days take everything with a grain of salt. Journalist and dev comments alike.
My advise keep your expectations and emotions in check and carefully examine the available GAMEPLAY footage in an unbiased manner yourself. Most gamers should have enough experience to form their own opinion.
Love the update so far.
Only issue is that the new combat system makes aiming with fixed guns while using K/M-control extremely hard. Like brutally hard.
But this has been acknowledged already and will be tweaked.
Good article.
I learned to keep my expectations in check. Particularly for the games I'm awaiting anxiously (Star Citizen and Xenoblade Chronicles X).
here we go...
You mean that they'll allow players to buy UEC (the in-game currency, that you will primarily earn through gameplay) in a limited fashion (monthly cap) for real world money so that they can create additional content for the persistent universe and sustain the servers?
You are aware that every item, regardless of purpose, be it a ship, a gun or a cosmetic skin, will be earn-able in-game through normal gameplay when the game is released, right?
If not, I...
TBH I'm not interested in the CPU internal GPU, but only the CPU. At least as long as I can't make use of it while using a dedicated graphics card.
Regardless, Skylake looks like it's going to become a fine generation of CPUs. Can't wait for the i7/K-models to be released!
The thing is they used these claims of threats to make a point and to sway public opinion in their favor.
What they now achieved is to ridicule the legitimate issue.
Thought about crysis 1 today. It's a shame what the series turned into. Have to admit I haven't played the 3rd though.
