There's nothing wrong with this requirement at all certainly not something that warrants this childish reaction from the usual trolls and pc/console warriors we see weekly. I played yesterday on my ps5 with cross play with pc, no issue. Player count hasn't changed at all. Another fake nontroversy from the outrage loving part of the gaming community.
I hope Sony doesn't give in to the phony rage mob, especially the cheating game stealing community of pc gamers. Most of these rageaholics don't even know what exactly they're angry about. Arrowhead needs to be upfront with this frustrated mob and tell them that's the policy going forward and not to expect a change to it. It was stellar blade just a few days ago now it's latched onto hd2 let the toxic mob move on to the next game to rage on about.
@darth, Sony shouldn't do anything save for the very few who may have legit problems creating a ps account in a jurisdiction that doesn't have it. I doubt that's even a problem for 99% of players. For the rest of pc players it should be mandatory, it's a playstation game they're entitled to require an account be logged into. Gamers need to grow up and stop with the phony childish outrage campaigns. Proves that pc gamers are just as childish to.

@Christopher are you in such a country? Many pc players in these countries have to sign in using fake foreign accounts anyways for other platforms they know how to get around this issue. There is this constant phony outrage machine that gets spun up for any Sony story.
It's Sony's game, why should crummy pc players get to dictate the terms on how the game is played. You don't want to sign in to a free psn account to play it then don't.

Why can't Sony have its own dedicated launcher not of just their games but other 3rd parties, why not. Nothing ventured nothing gained. These are the same people who openly worry about a monopoly in console gaming yet the advocate for a monopoly in pc gaming.

@Xi, the fake outrage crowd is using these countries without psn because they know their childish cries about setting up a free psn account were laughable.
