Why is MS still in the video game and console business? Are they really going to commit to this for the long term?
No company, especially a publically traded one, is willing to loose money on an investment. This idea that because Microsoft is big cash rich company that they will happily bleed money in their xbox division just so they can win the console wars is ridiculous.
It's a slow build up but once you get to the world serpent the game really takes flight. It truly is amazing and I haven't even finished it. Can't wait to get back to it.
For many gamers the whole gaming on PC thing is non existent and will always be. They are not acting they are enjoying the game in front of them not some imagined version of it running at 120 fps etc...

You a firmly in the minority, most people will by a console once. 4k was a legit reason to offer a mid gen upgrade given when the base models came out but that situation is rare.
Your still holding the most capable hardware back so the games can run on the weakest platform. Console gaming is not PC gaming never has been and never should be. It would be smarter to give a more meaningful hardware upgrade (sell the initial sku at 500$ instead of 400$) from the outset so there is more room for these consoles to stretch their legs over a generation.
Not boring just different. God of War true strength has always been it's epic story telling and grand scale set pieces. No other has matched at least for me God of War in this regard.
You can ban all violence in video games, movies music etc and these shooting will continue unabated.
Nobody who really cared about the mass shootings phenomena would even touch the issue of violence in mass media; before dealing with the basic issue of ease of access to guns especially high powered auto/semi automatic rifles and amo first. It is strictly a diversionary tactic that should be completely ignored.

Access to guns is the problem full stop. Once Columbine happened there seems to have been a domino effect when it comes to mass shootings.
If you have the dollars to spend and a 4k tv especially if you dont have either base model then the pro or X are a viable option. I personally would get neither knowing that no matter how crisp and clean the image is you will never get games that tap into the true power of either machine. Microsoft is not the Xbox division alone. Why can't people understand this. Those type of dollars invested into a relatively small part of the company would have to show a good ROI to justify that amount of cash. 50 billion is not a small amount of money.
These r mid gen upgrades and should only be modest improvements over the base model. Anything beyond that is waisted tech as the console will never be utilized to its fullest potential. Not a fan of either really and i hope this is not repeated next gen.
This was a wildly inconsistent game. Visually stunning, one the best if not the best looking game I have seen this generation. But the boss battles where so lazily done you wonder how a developer could put such detail into everything but what should be the most important set pieces in the game.

I'm glad they did just enough. I would hate for a huge spec bump model that was tied to the Ps4 wasting the power increase. A mid gen upgrade should be as closely, spec and time wise, tied to the last system as possible. We'll be getting Ps5 soon enough.
If all those items are indeed coming in march and later June via a patch then the game should have been released in March. Im not the biggest fan of online fighting and place much more value on story and arcade mode, I suspect Im not alone. I love street fighter but will wait until I know I can have at least an arcade mode when I buy.
Not being sarcastic, but compared to the other 2 makers in which gaming in general is a huge part of their portfolio, the xbox division is such a small part of what MS does. Even the investment in buying studios is not much with a huge possibility of little return, they could easily back out of that with little effect.
