No problem with this game coming to other platforms....I do have a big problem with it being delayed until September when the Wii U version is essentially finished.
That is a bafflingly stupid decision that is costing Ubisoft money right now. It was highly anticipated for the Wii U, plenty of people were clamouring for the game to be released and were hugely disappointed when it was pushed back from launch.
Why not release it and give the Wii U an exclusivity period? Would t...
It's a slightly cool idea for a select few people who want to keep playing Steam games when they go to the toilet, or sit in another room or something.
If you have to load the game up on the PC first, surely it'd be easier to just play on the damn PC?
As for Android gaming with controls, tablets with gaming controls are starting to appear all over the place. The Archos gamepad isn't a good example of what can be done, but several Chinese tabs offer that functional...
The plural of sheep is sheep, there's no 's' at the end. I agree with your point though, unfortunately there's a LOT of gamers who seem to defend the big companies for their shoddy business practices in terms of stripping away their consumer rights.
They already dominate handheld sales, and have done since before Revelations even came out. As for them losing the home console wars....you are so wrong it's not even funny. In certain countries, the 360 or PS3 may be slowly creeping up on the Wii. But worldwide, it's not even really close...the wii sold 100 million consoles to the Xbox and PS3's 70 million-ish each.
Jury is out on the WiiU obviously, but a quick price cut for that console, alongside a big Nint...
Badonkadonk is a racist word now? Really? Crunk? Some people are just desperate to be offended it seems. They must trawl various forms of media just hoping that somebody says something to offend their delicate sensibilities. Those people need to get a life, go deal with actual racial issues.
Devs are not entitled to our cash purely because they make a game....they have to earn it by making a decent quality title. Rather than trying to nickle and dime people to death, they should try giving gamers incentives to buy new rather than going out of their way to punish those who don't.
Second hand sales often benefit developers and publishers, more than they'd care to admit I'd imagine. It's certainly a valuable resource for games that didn't do so well and...
It's been done with multiple EA games in the past....not specifically linked to a "So scary you'll need new underwear" thing.
Unless the FIFA series is really that scary.
The guy slagging the game off is an idiot. Not because he doesn't like Driver SF - I've not played it - but because his post is completely worthless.
It offers no constructive criticism, no reasoning beyond "Duuuuurrr, game bad....make better game!", and can easily be dismissed as childish trolling because of that.
In short, he really demonstrates the problem that a lot of gamers seemingly have. They think their opinion is gospel. I'm guilty o...
Yes, legit question. Beyond 60fps, how high does it really need to be? Does strapping 2 high powered cards together - and all the associated costs - make Far Cry 3 a better game than on my relatively modest Sandybridge i5, GTX 560ti and 4gig ram? Does it make it the hundreds of pounds/dollars better that some people are paying for sometimes minor boosts in performance?
@raytraceme, I never once said there was no piracy on consoles, no need to be defensive.
The President of Crytek said in an interview given to PC Play in April 2008 that the high levels of piracy of the original game are what drove them to consider console versions of future games - that's straight from the horses mouth.
And both console versions of Crysis 2 sold more than the PC version according to VG Chartz. The PC version of Crysis 2 was also the most pirated game of ...
OK, this gen they promised HD resolution....yet barely any games ran 720p natively on consoles, never mind 1080p. What makes anyone think that they'll come even remotely close to 4K resolution for even a fraction of titles? There's simply no chance, not without the cost being extremely prohibitive. The generation after next, maybe.
Lets not get carried away on idiotic rumours that have no realistic chance of being close to possible. 1080p at 60 frames a second s...
Agreed, I truly don't see the point. How many monitors could you possibly need to run the game across? How high does the fps really need to be? How smooth the edges of polygons before it's enough? Eventually the law of diminishing returns has got to kick in and it just doesn't become worth the outlay for the "improvements" that are craved.
I'm playing the worlds smallest violin. Honestly, if the PC master race didn't pirate the hell out of their game, they wouldn't have had to court the console crowd to stay afloat.
This is only offensive if you're a humourless blob of misery which, to be fair, a lot of PC and console gamers can be when they feel entitled.
"How dare he insult me? Doesn't he know how much I spent on my rig?". As Justin Timberlake once said...."Cry me a river...yeah!", and if a hollywood pretty boy like Timberlake makes you look whiny in comparison, then it's time to re-evaluate things and just play some damn games rather than worrying about an ext...
It's a spoof article you dingbat, it says so in the text at the top of this page if you didn't even bother to read the actual article.
You're not alone of course, several others obviously just read the headline and commented without knowing a thing about the actual article. Or actually, perhaps they did read the other text and just didn't know what lampooning meant.
Either way, a fair few slow people on the comments section today.
@Hazardman, they want stricter controls for guns so less crazy people have access to the types of guns that are being more and more commonly used for mass killings. They don't want to take them away entirely.
Your comment about bad guys running rampant is typical of the climate of fear created in the States. The NRA have conditioned you to fear the mythical bad guys that will come to get you, yes YOU, if those liberal lefties take your guns away (again, not what's being prop...
Remember how the Cell processor was supposed to blow away the Xbox 360 CPU? Remember what little difference it's raw processing power actually made in the grand scheme of this generation?
This sort of comparison means absolutely nothing until all the details for both machines are fully known. I know it won't stop people, but a lot of perspective really is needed with articles like this.
I've been saying this for a while...the leap over last gen and the WiiU will not be as massive as people think it will. It's going to be more about stability of full 1080p at a minimum of 60fps with no screen tearing...possibly with 3D.
Hardware is, of course, important but far more important is the games that are played on it. If it's the same old stuff as last gen with only a slightly nicer coat of paint....how many will be disappointed?
Not that this sort of nonsense should matter, but you could also point out that the 360 has maintained this high level of success without a foothold in Japan to speak of. The console flopped miserably over there, pretty much negating the year and a bit head start they had.
Fanboys will argue this pap until the cows come home...truth is, the Wii blitzed them both. People always claim the Wii is worthless and is full of nothing but shovelware and mini game collections, but th...
What an idiotic decision on the part of the Ubisoft higher ups. They are costing themselves money with this decision. Rayman was highly anticipated by a LOT of Wii U owners - myself included.
They should have released it as planned, and then released the other versions in September. The Wii U version could have been making them money NOW. Instead they're going to release in the face of stiffer competition all around the industry....it's like they want Rayman to fail.
