I disagree...I find Miiverse to be a refreshing change of pace, a lot more friendly and approachable when compared to Xbox live or something. I much prefer the "censorship" as it forces people to act like decent human beings for a change.
They have started to realise it...they admitted they messed up by apologising for the lack of games, and announcing that big game reveals were coming at E3.
Where they messed up was not realising this before the console was released. They've started to make the changes required; entering into more partnerships with various publishers and developers to start creating more new games, rejigging their internal structure in an effort to streamline etc.
The problem is, they'...
That's got nothing to do with reviewers getting paid...that's down to your personal taste.
I've hated games that were critically acclaimed, doesn't mean that those who gave the games good scores were bought, it just means I didn't agree with their opinion. It takes more than disagreement to highlight a crooked review. You need to actually look at the content of the review and find if it's lacking or clearly just thrown together by glancing at a press kit - li...
They aren't friends, they're business partners willing to work together....nothing more.
Great post mate.
There are problems in a system that allow publishers so much power over review and preview content. Reviews are supposed to be consumer advice, not tools to promote the games (though that can be an element of it).
Anyone with any sense knows that reviews are subjective, so long as they argue their case well and in a relatively factual manner based on the content of the game, you can't really argue about any score.
The system need...
Despicable practice that needs to be phased out to protect the interests of consumers. For too long have the publishers used the reviews process for their own ends...it's supposed to be consumer advice. There should be no exclusive reviews, there should be no review embargoes, there should be no blacklisting of review sites or individuals for daring to speak negatively of a game or publishers business practices. It's disgusting to me that they're allowed to get away with this n...
Actually, it basically IS....it's a bunch of off the shelf PC components customised a little and bunged into a console shell.
My PC is plugged into my 46" 3D TV just fine thanks....just like my Wii U and PS3. What's your point? Wireless controllers work fine on PC - including the 360 and PS3 pads, and even Wiimotes.
Like Brucis said, I can see why you only have a single bubble.
If all anyone cared about was raw technological prowess, then consoles wouldn't even exist and everyone would be gaming on PC's exclusively already.
Only a certain group of people give a crap about performance above all else...everyone else cares only about the games. It's nice to have both performance and great games, of course, but spec sheets are not the be all and end all.
There's a reason the original Super Mario Bros. will forever be looked back on fond...
Because Nintendo don't play the same game that MS and Sony play in terms of focussing on specs and graphical fidelity above all else.
They have a different approach, and I'm glad they do as the industry is homogenised enough as it is.
Anyone who forms an opinion now, without seeing anything of what MS are actually offering, is an idiot.
The only thing the PS4 reveal showed is better graphics....the sharing feature means less than nothing to me. Nifty if you feel like everyone just HAS to see you shoot that guy, but a pointless gimmick for everyone else more concerned with playing games than showing off.
If MS focuses on Kinect 2 and has no decent exclusives, then I'm out. What I worr...
Gee, thanks very much mobile gamers...really appreciate you making this cynical cash-grab garbage a success. I hope you all drop your stupidly expensive phones in a sewer you dullards - get some sense and realise when you're being thoroughly gouged!!!
Idiots.
Finally....the industry legends Victor and Scott weigh in on this game. Phew, I thought we'd miss their all important analysis of this title, glad it's so timely as well, coming so many weeks after the launch has come and gone....so useful.
Why would the game necessarily have to be dumbed down? The PS4 could be able to handle USB mouse and keyboard control for certain games if needed....if not, then a simplified control scheme wouldn't be too hard to create if needed.
Or is your post just another "PC Master Race" looking down on console owners thing?
Exactly. Say what you will about Activision, but they screw the consumer WAY less than EA.
Less online passes.
Less micro transactions (so far anyway).
Fewer server shutdowns that disable online play.
They seem to take it in turns when it comes to most hated company though, so we'll see what shit Activision pulls next to give EA a break.
Yes EA....gamers sure do love those micro-transactions don't they? They also love the homogenization of every single unique title into "Generic Action Game"....nothing signifies unique and different game experiences like doing exactly the same thing that everyone else is doing.
Gamers are starting to tire of being treated like wallets with legs, they're sick and tired of games all gradually becoming the same - lowest common denominator catering to the drool...
Unfortunately, many gamers are more than willing to bend over and accept this kind of crap AND shout down fellow gamers who validly point out the downsides to doing so....usually calling them entitled or whiny.
They are the worst types of shills...oblivious ones.
Even now we're seeing so-called Free to Play games where you can, technically, get everything available in the game without paying. But, often the amount of actual game time you'd have to put in to get anything like a decent amount of in-game currency is extremely high.
The games companies will continue to make it harder and harder to do the basics - like The War Z and it's insipid "pay to respawn immediately" mechanic they introduced just after they increased r...
Is Uncharted actually 43 GB of data? I read somewhere that PS3 games often have parts of the data on the disc multiple times to reduce the distance the lens has to travel and reduce loading times. Is all 43GB unique data with Uncharted?
You're being downvoted and dismissed as paranoid because publishers don't have to pay to hold back a review....they can simply add a condition that the review cannot be published until a certain date if a site or magazine wants a review copy.
