You would have to assume that the deals Amazon ($299 for the Kinect bundle plus $100 gift card), Best Buy (Same deal a week later) and the MS promo (purchase a windows laptop $700 or more and receive a free 360) were big influences in why the system sold well in a typical "slow" month.

Bungie is hardly a one trick pony. It may SEEM like that nowadays in the age of the "blockbuster" and "system seller" but really - they've been making great games since their inception, just with a much smaller market share and user base.
Well, they have a great install base, and seem to benefit from user loyalty, but you have to admit, their strategies from time to time make no sense at all.

Well - it didn't turn out bad for this game (L.A. Noire) because the only thing missing is a token for a suit or something.
BFBC2, or other "online pass" games don't come with the code for online validation when you buy used, so Gamestop might take advantage of this and push the "well, don't forget your MS/PSN points because you need it to play online" bull.

Scanning planets for resources for hours on end? Yugh... I'd rather go to the "same" different planet and actually battle geth than scan planets over and over.
The customization of your abilities and weapons were completely "casual"ized in ME2 compared to ME1 - just pay for the upgrades, and viola, it's there.

The problem isn't 1UP - it's the translation of the score 1UP gave to Metacritic score.
1UP gave the game an F, but Metacritic takes an "F" and makes it a 0.
I'm not defending 1UP here, but you guys are ridic if you don't even understand why something happened.
Metacritic needs to change their scoring algorithms when sites use letter system... F =/= 0.
