Agree. I came to post this... hardly new findings it was widely reported.
I think this is a case where it would have been interesting for Sean Murray to express his gratitude toward eager fans instead of disappointment.
The game has gone gold meaning we're not seeing a beta copy that isn't representative of final product. This is the retail version and the exposure here has been positive!
Can we please stop saying Xbox Two when talking about the successor to Xbox One?
Microsoft will never release a product called "Xbox Two" because it makes no sense based on why they named 360 and One.
I don't know what capacity might be released but hard drive swapping is an option.
Good! I want to see more of this moving forward.
Did you hate on PS2 for that gimmicky DVD player? Or that gimmicky Blu-Ray drive in the PS3?
How about Xbox for that gimmicky hard drive?
A gimmick is simply something used to sell a product. Gimmicks have driven innovation and new standards in the industry so please stop with the latest "hate on Nintendo for gimmicks" fad.
@Lukerjl
I wouldn't rush to buy the PS4 Neo if I already owned one.
They could discontinue support of the original but a 40 million user base suggests it isn't likely.
I think your probably safe for at least another 3-4 years.
You don't have to buy anything. Your PS4 remains fully compatible.
I've been gaming since Atari... this new philosophy is different. I actually have mixed feelings on it however it's not all bad.
For example, I hold on to all my old consoles because I actively play old games and new. I can envision a time when Playstation hardware moving forward simply works with all prior software (more or less) like its PC and phone counterparts.
To that end, I like the direction.
This is no more a middle finger to fans than annual new smartphones, TV and PC upgrades. Apple, LG and Nvidia routinely release upgraded hardware.
Sony is introducing the Playstation platform (versus console). As a fan, I like that it solves backward compatibility and allows for quicker hardware refreshes than the typical 7 or 8 year cycle.
Think platform not console. It seems like by modeling after SmartPhone/PC that Sony may be looking to extend the life for many years to come.
As a fan, I like that it solves backward compatibility problems and naturally allows innovation in shorter spans of time.
Ironically I suspect many that are decrying this change are Smartphone users that celebrate their upgrades every two years.
Playstation is transitioning from a console to a platform. It's different but it's not necessarily awful.
You're not the target audience for this release.
This looks cool. Sounds like Funcom might be catching some of their glory days :)
I like most of what I hear... just don't muddy the waters with a "stream controller" and dedicated handheld. Combine them, please!

This is hardly surprising. I assumed stripper or sex worker with the way things were handled.
Nobody says "moonlighting" without defining it after being fired and claiming unjust cause.
Yeah... I'm tired this mantra from devs... we get it, you want people to respect your form of expression.
If I had a dime for every time I've heard a developer say this I'd have like 3 bucks.
He's jabbing you because they're talking about the Nintendo 64 game. The Wii game was a pseudo-sequel.
