@PaulKersey I'm not being a smartass but dig into orders for manufacturing lines and procurement. They're planned months in advance. If you miss on volume, it takes months to catch up.
The "intentional" angle is laughable. Shortages work against companies. Business 101 is to strike while the iron is hot and right now Switch's public perception may never be higher.
Ask the company behind Hatchimals, the hot toy this past Christmas if they would rather have sold more units or had the out of stock signs up for the month.
You can develop a game for the whole base and barely move units. However if you adopt early for a specialty device you're more likely to have a hit.
It's the same rule with launch games--as long as it's not atrocious, sales are great.
I don't own an Xbox One but I do love that I can carry over a lot of my Xbox 360 games if I choose to get one!
So delay this game because Street Fighter V was underwhelming? That really doesn't add up...
Buy wireless headphones that use a 3.5" jack, I've had them for years...
Source? It would be news to us all if these weren't profitable.
No... Half Life 3 confirmed!
PS4 Pro seems pretty decent to me especially with Boost Mode. Sony is in a similar position that Xbox 360 was in when HD first was mainstream. It'll take time to improve but the hardware is respectable.
Good! I love the first party games but want to see a lot more third party support this time around.
Dude your shift key is busted.
@TheCommentator
Sometimes studios that release good games get shut down. Fun games don't always equate financial performance (though it helps!).
Note: I don't own a PSVR just saying...
Don't just disagree... hit the spam button.
@EDMIX
Netflix, Amazon, Hulu on the Switch isn't "competing". Those services have been on nearly every TV made since 2011.
I'm not even sure HOW you think I came to a conclusion of "less apps means more games" because I never said it.
Media apps will probably come in due time but Netflix is available everywhere. I'm sure it won't be make or break. I want Nintendo focused on the games!
I appreciate Nintendo for their different approach. All of their systems have given me great memories and unique gaming experiences. I don't mind owning a PlayStation or Xbox separately because that will give me something different too.
It's easy to look at the Wii U and right them off but their is a lot of positive buzz around the Switch. The portable aspects of this console are likely to be a hit considering the continued success of the 3DS.
I'll have my PS4 later this year and both games are on my wishlist.
Isn't that what stealth mode is for, Snake?
The difference is the Switch has the public buzz the Wii U never had. The air feels more like Nintendo during the Revolution rumors (which ultimately was the Wii).
I second this. I have a family and work full-time. Zelda may take me months...
