@FlyingFoxy:

Vita can't emulate Dreamcast, dude, that's absurd.

Now, playing ports of Dreamcast games? Yes, it can, but that's a completely different thing, and the 3DS can play ports of Dreamcast games too.

Yours isn't exactly unbiased, either. In all honesty, sometimes I feel like you're the opposite of Hatsune Miku, going to the other extreme.

As a big Nintendo fan, you embarrass me a bit.

No. Under development, what it says is that the game engine used is capable of making games at full HD (1080p). It's not the same as saying that the GAME itself is actually running at 1080p.

So, no, this isn't confirmation at all.

Source? I haven't been able to confirm anywhere the native resolution for Rayman Origins on both consoles.

Fast enough for what? I've seen a few high quality games for Tegra 3 Android devices, but they're usually hindered by the less than optimal touch screen controls.

Yes, we can't expect PS3-level games on the Ouya, and I'm fine with that. But still, the little machine is, in theory, capable of playing good games that look good on HD screen.

You're right that it still remains to be seen whether Ouya will get decent game support or not, though...

The Dreamcast didn't exactly crash and burn... it was actually selling pretty well. The problem was that Sega needed a fucking miracle to get out of their financial troubles, and the Dreamcast sales just weren't enough to put them out of the shithole they dug themselves.

If Sega wasn't already massively broke because of their stupid previous decisions (Saturn, Sega CD, 32X, Nomad and Game Gear), then they could have done well with the Dreamcast, actually. Even wit...

Yeah, I've done that, too, and the experience is far from optimal. Not all games have native support for controllers (none of Gameloft's stuff supports controllers, for once), and many games with controller support is limited. For example, in Beach Buggy Blitz I can use my PS3 controller only in the actual races, but when a run is over, I need to control the menus with the touch screen, so it's a big hassle.

Also, my TV's aspect ratio gets screwed when display...

"If Sony was really "losing billions" why do they keep pushing PlayStation?"

Because their Playstation division is by far their healthiest one. By a wide margin. Remember that Sony is a megacorporation comprised of several smaller corporations, and out of all them, their gaming division is the one that gives them the most profit.

Why people take console sales number so seriously? Why do they debate endlessly about PS3 sales versus Xbox 360 sales? Do they have the (stupid) notion that, whatever console sells the most, it's the best console?

In that case, OMFG THE WII IS DA BEST, IT DESTROYED PS3 AND XBOX 360 LOLOLOL.

Amirite?

(Please note that the caps section was hugely sarcastic, despite me being a big Nintendo fan and having enjoyed the Wii greatly).

Your comment gives me the impression that you flat-out dislike open world games. If that's the case, then you disliking Far Cry 3 doesn't mean anything to me. Just because someone doesn't like a certain genre of games, doesn't mean said genre is bad, and it looks like you just dislike Far Cry 3 for being a sandbox, not because it's actually garbage.

Fair enough. I just find it weird, because I've definitely found the Wii U version to be much, much more challenging than the Wii one.

Oh, well.

You completely ignore the facts that Nintendo allows indie devs to price their own games however they want on Wii U eShop (as opposed to a closed price structure that they had with the Wii's WiiWare), and don't charge them for game patches (as opposed to Microsoft's $40,000 fee per game patch on Live, which is an insane price that many indie devs just can't cover).

So, wanna to rethink what you posted again? Nintendo is actually doing a damn good job with the...

Really? I remember back in 2006 reading that Sony had about 400,000 PS3 units available for launch WORLDWIDE on their first month, and then they had a manufacturing problem where a portion of those units had defective lenses or something like that, so not all of those 400k units were available at launch.

Why 10 million? Why not 5 million? Why not 15 million? Where does that random number comes from?

The way I see it, you're doing a Pachter, nothing more.

4904d ago 4 agree1 disagreeView comment

No necessarily. By that logic, then Sony and Microsoft should have earned more money with the PS3 and Xbox 360 than Nintendo did with the Wii, because those consoles were much more expensive. However, Sony and Microsoft sold their consoles initially at a massive loss, while Nintendo saw massive profit per each Wii console sold since day one.

So, yeah, it's not as simple as associating earning with the price of the console. It's all relative.

I played the trilogy, and I liked ME3 much, much more than ME2. Not sure yet how it actually compares with ME1, though, I need to replay ME3 to be sure.

To each their own, I guess.

Lol, no way, Mario Bros U is much, much harder than the Wii one. It's not even comparable.

How much experience do you have playing Mario? Was the Wii version your first one? Don't get defensive, I'm asking out of genuine curiosity.

Nintendo fans care about many genres, FPS's included. The thing is, this generation, Nintendo fans had to care more about other genres (platforming, adventure), to get their fix of Mario platformers, Zelda, Metroid, Mario Kart, etc, because...

...if you're a fan of FPS's, then an Xbox 360 or a PS3 or a PC were definitely the way to go on this gen. The Wii just didn't cut it. However, FPS's whad a fair presence on Gamecube, and N64 (GoldenEye, anyone?), and...
