No, not really. I LOVE my Wii U, and my PS3 and 360 have actually been collecting dust since I got my Wii U (day one), but region locking for the CONTROLLER? No, that's fucking stupid and nobody should defend it.
Console region locking is bad enough as it is, we don't need it to get worse than that.
While what you said is actually 100% true, you missed the point a bit: this article was asking whether Sony and Microsoft will wait until 2014 to put out their next machines.
Once they put out their next consoles, the PS3 and 360 will stop being "current generation"... get it now? :)
I can't for the life of me figure out why you got so many disagrees. This agree/disagree system is absolute bullshit.
What does it being Christmas has to do with anything? Are you implying that it would be fine to make fun of the kid's weight any other time of the year, but not on Christmas?
I don't know, I think we should be nice people ALL THE TIME, not just in some random feel-good holiday that most people don't even really understand what it's really about (hint: not Santa).
Guys, according to Kotaku, this controller is compatible only with Wii games or Wii U games that are compatible with the old Classic controller. It actually doesn't work as a Wii U Pro Controller, so it will be useless on Wii U games compatible with the actual Pro Controller.
Yes, you read that right. Because of this, I see absolutely no reason to buy this controller, it's awfully misleading.
Actually, most of the gamepad uses for Zombi U are awesome. The only sort of gimmicky uses was tapping to uncover manholes or remove barricades, as well as drawing on the screen to lock pick doors... and those segments were pretty few and quick throughout the game, so it wasn't noteworthy.
Everything else: inventory management, scanning, sniper rifle scope, pinging radar and map, all of those were superb uses of the gamepad that actually felt pretty immersive.

No, it wasn't, unplain and complicated.
You need to learn some things. A game isn't "hardcore" because of its graphic style, and anyone that truly believe that is immature.
Donkey Kong Country Returns kicked my ass many, many more times than GTA IV, Mass Effect games, Uncharted games, etc.
Now, if you meant PS4 will be better for more "mature" games, as in, a more adult tone... maybe you're right. Personally, I enjoy ANY good game, regardless of its tone (kiddy vs. adult...
I'm sorry for making that assumption, but really, your article leaves very little else to think about. Basically you talk how every game seems to be more of the same, and I called you out for that because there's actually a big variety in games despite shooters being the most popular genre.
Obviously, my comment hurt your gamer pride, I apologize for that. But... if you really have all those different games you listed, plus many more, I honestly don't understand t...
I see Steambox as Valve's attempt to get more people to use the Steam service aside from the core PC gamers. It would be like a low end entry PC that would be able to play any PC title, without the hassle of upgrading parts. As in, a more console-ized PC gaming experience.
Yes, hardcore PC users aren't the target here. They already have their own awesome setups and have been using Steam since long ago. That leaves the middle Joe and Jane that can't be arsed with l...
What I got from this article was that the author apparently knows VERY little about gaming genres outside of shooters, because he talks mainly about how bored he is with games like the Uncharteds, the Gears of Wars, the Halos and Call of Dutys.
Yeah, he mentions Journey and The Walking Dead, but my guess is that he knows about it mainly because they won accolades at the Spike VGAs, which are the most mainstream gaming event out there, and one of the main targets of this award...
While Zombi U ranks just a bit higher on my personal list, I think your review and score justification was spot-on. Good start, buddy, and great review!
"If anyone in the industry has risen to their peak, fallen quicker and harder, but still galvanizes millions of fans, it's Nintendo."
Dude, you spelled Sega wrong.
Oh, the new controller is one of the things that Nintendo got right with the Wii U. SO VERY RIGHT.
Haters gonna hate.
Take a look at the PS3's and 360's launch lineups, as well as their games on their first year in the market, Miku, and you'll see that the Wii U, in comparison, isn't as shitty as you claim it to be, third-party support wise.
But of course you won't. God forbid you allow yourself to watch any kind of data that could disprove your "definite" proof that Nintendo is shit.
Call me a NES fanatic all you want, I will appreciate the iro...
Really? Mass Effect 3 also happen to be my personal GOTY, very closely followed by Xenoblade Chronicles. And Bioware sure as shit didn't pay me a single cent to have this opinion.
So, why can't Game Informer have the same opinion as I do, and numerous other people do, without being labeled as sell outs? Simply because they actually write about videogames for a living?
Logic, what's that?
Uh, all of that actually sounds WORSE than Pachter. Lol.
Xenoblade... poor graphics? I don't know what you're smoking. That game looks beautiful despite being in a non-hd console.
What the... remote play isn't possible with the Wii U gamepad, dude. You need to stay in close range to the console in order for the gamepad to work.
Seriously, do you even own the game?
