fridge?
I love how you bring up the Playstation 1 for comparison when talking about more ddram and faster processors... the PS1 was roughly HALF the power of the N64, still it mopped the floor with it.
Why? Not because of power, dude, but games. GAMES.
Which is exactly what the Wii U is lacking right now, and which is exactly what it needs to gain momentum. It wouldn't matter if the Wii U was actually more powerful than the PS4 and next Xbox will be, if it doesn&...
Not usually, no.
To the people saying that Mario Bros U didn't do anything to sell the system: according to IGN, Mario Bros U has sold 2.15 million copies already, and the Wii U has sold 3.45 million units worlwide so far.
Compare the ratio. That means that roughly 2 out of each 3 Wii U owners have Super Mario Bros U. Basically, a 66% adoption rate.
So, yeah. This probably means that, without Mario Bros U at launch, the Wii U probably would've sold LESS.
Metroid isn't really a system seller. None of the Metroid games have ever sold that well, despite their popularity in the western audience.
Nah, they're real because there's a disclaimer in the ads stating just that. Nintendo wouldn't put such a disclaimer if they were just actors, because that would make them liable for false advertising, and therefore, could be sued upon.
The same way that a console that just launched a few months ago is considered a failure.
I think these ads, while nothing brilliant, do a decent job at raising awareness among the casual crowd. But I'm only an advertiser, what do I know? ;)
@MEsoJD: I will just redirect you to this another thread where I addressed why I think Nintendo don't need to go third party (nor any other, for that matter):

@BattleAxe:
You raise a valid point. Actually, I had this exact same argument with another dude via PM, and the guy told me pretty much the same thing you said. This is what I said to him:
"You conveniently forget that Sony's PS1 and PS2 were considerably weaker than their competitors when they were released. Just like Sony is nowadays focusing in sheer power and Nintendo isn't, the situation can change completelly in future generations." <...
There's already a Zelda game with Okami style visuals. It's called Okami.
:P
Sony is actually in a much worse financial state than Nintendo. If anything, Sony would go third party before Nintendo does, and I honestly don't see that happening, either.
Stop dreaming. If Nintendo goes third party, it won't be anytime soon.
Sony consoles aren't necessary though. I would be more than happy playing God of War on my Wii U.
See how easy it was for me to spin your ridiculous argument?
It is foolish to talk trash about Sony and Microsoft, I agree, and it's also foolish to throw all the Nintendo fans in the same sack, and that's why I'm calling you out.
If that makes me a sensitive fanboy in your eyes, so be it, it doesn't make what I said any less true.
If you look a couple posts below, you'll see that I actually called out this article because of its stupid fanboyism.
It IS an upgrade, just like the PS3 was an upgrade from the PS2.
People trying to utilize the term "upgrade" in a derogatory manner don't really understand what the word means.
Nope, that's definitely not normal. Have you contacted Nintendo support?
If anything, a Vita version would be the closest to the Wii U version, if not identical. It has a touch screen after all.
Please, this shit isn't exclusive to Ninty fanboys. All fanboys can be ridiculous. I'm a Nintendo fan, and this article embarrass me, so don't talk in such broad terms.
While the article actually raises a few pretty good points, its validity goes right down the drain with its sensationalist headline and introduction, where it puts, in a matter of factly way, the Wii U as the reigning champion of a console generation that hasn't even fully started yet.
I'm a big Nintendo fan, but this embarrass me. I think these kind of articles are just as bad as the "Wii U is doomed" ones. They go to the extremes in order to defend or take...
Yeah, I have never read a single piece of news about someone going to jail for downloading and playing roms of old NES /SNES games... care to show me one?
It's ilegal, yup, but there's virtually no consequences for doing that. Feel free to illegally download all the roms you want if you like, but I love playing some classic Nintendo games on the gamepad, or with the Wii remote, myself. :)
It was never meant to be released in November. Ubisoft only said it was going to be part of the launch window games, and said launch window was comprised of 4 MONTHS, from November 2012 to March 2013.
That means that, actually, the delay is about 5 months. Not a year. Still a long delay, but not even half as long as you make it out to be.
