I thought general consensus on N4G was that getting exclusive content was just thowing money around and not a good thing for the industry? Was that just last gen?
Im loving how the title alone is enough to set off the fanboys. Regardless of your next gen console preference, surely a "true gamer" knows that limiting yourself to one console means you'll miss out on some great gaming experiences. I know we cant all afford three new systems but thats no reason to slip into blind denial of the fact that they wil each have something cool to offer.

How did they try to screw you? If this is about their original drm and indie policies then im not sure how publicly announcing them then, after hearing the criticism, reversing those policies (all before you have parted with a single dollar) is trying to screw you. Its not like they waited until after you'd bought it before telling you this stuff.
If you go by sales the 360 was a close 3rd behind PS3. If you go by market gain? Xbox sales jumped 175% from 28 million of the original xbox to 77 miliin for the 360. Sony sales dropped 35% from 120 million PS2 sales to 78 million PS3. So I would say the 360 was quite a big success.
It's like they are now deliberately trying to get bad press. If this is how MS are going compete with the value of PS+ i'd rather they didnt bother. They got ridiculed initially because the games they annouced where so old (H3 & AC2) but then, somehow they've managed to make it worse. Still, at least we got fable 3, which i have a feeling may turn out to be the highlight of this whole thing.
This is getting crazy now. Halo 3 & Assassins Creed 2 weren't exactly amazing games to start MS fight against the value of PS+ but they were a lot better than this. I swear I really want an XB1 as I think the games look great, I just wish it was a different company running things....maybe Sega could take the project over and rebrand it the Dreamcast 2. Or maybe we could get a time machine and grab the team behind the X360 launch!
Granted Valve do not make bad games but I still think they have missed their oppotune moment for release. Dont get me wrong im sure it would be good but can it possibly match the expectations of the hardcore gaming masses? I guess there's only one way we'll find out.
Im not sure if that many people care anymore? Dont get me wrong, if its a great game it will sell well but I think the interest in Half Life 3 is half of what is has been. Kinda like Shenmue 3, loads of folks online say they want it but how many people in the real world are even bothered. Some game sequels should just be allowed to die (Duke Nukem Forever im looking at you)
Not to argue with you but im curious, when did Microsoft actually lie? I know we all disagreed with their policies but when did they lie about it?
People would be ready to go digital if they thought for one minute that there would be games sales as cheap as Steam, that would screw the retailers though so that wil never happen.

I think it's pretty crappy how many web sites are doing these "look at the cool features that MS is getting rid of" articles. If they thought these things were so great why weren't they praising them when all the anti drm and online check-in stuff was kicking off?

Ps3 had the better specs this gen but multi format titles, for the most part, were seen as running better on X360. Proof that it's not the specs but how the developers use them that counts
Sorry ziggurcat the kinect is staying because they want developers yo know that ever xboxone owner has one, so they can incorporate it in to their games without fear of segregating their audience.

What is this whole "inferior to PS4" crap people keep going on about? If your referring to the RAM and other tech spec differences, can I point out that the PS3 was, in a hardware aspect, superior to the X360 but most multi platform games ran better on Xbox. While 1st party titles on PS3 looked better than most games, there arent as many of those as there are 3rd party titles. The point im making is so far, what games we have seen, both machines look equal with the graphically best...
