2, maybe 3. That being the case is it worth the $150 extra Blu-ray adds to the cost of the console. I don't think so. MS will pick up the cost for the third disc. It's not that big of a deal. Still a lot cheaper than adding Blu-ray. And for all the Sony fanboys who believe they can trust Carmack(I do myself), he also believes the PS3 is only slightly more powerful than the 360. He also believes the ease of use of the 360 makes it a better console.
But a year or so ago they realized that the future was in instant viewing. Since they have only been doing instant movies for a short time and have now partnered with one of the better companies at compressing and streaming video, they might have a much better streaming service that they plan to use when they really start pushing the instant movies this fall. I wouldn't worry so much about the quality. It will be there.
Given Sony record with major releases.... actually considering how long it's taking to do LBP, MAG won't be out until sometime in 2012. Most likely in March, so you'll only have 9 months before the Aztec Gods kill us all.

I disagreed with you because it's not just about how money you have today. Microsoft is the company that will push quickly to the next generation. Not because of RRoD, but because of the rate that technology improves. If you look at what a game like Crysis looks like now and think about what games will be like in the next 3 years, you would realize that companies have no choice. Fifa PS3 outsold 360 Fifa by 200,000, but Madden 360 sold over 2.5 million copies. I'm sure it didn't sell that many copies in Europe so the 200,000 difference would be wiped out easy. Even at the current exchange rates, that's a +800,000 advantage on that title alone.

Can you or any other person tell me which PS3 titles outsold the 360 counterparts that went into making up that difference in income. I don't seem to remember a EA title that outsold a Xbox version. And I don't remember a title that was only on the PS3 from EA that could have made that much of a difference. That said, the number released don't add up.
Even if you only convince 2 million people to buy a 360 who wouldn't have otherwise it would be worth it to own GTA. But 2.5 is too much, just buy the rights or exclusivity. Plus that might be 2 million more who won't buy a PS3.

Why would they. Spend 2.5 billion on take two, and get a profit of what? I understand name recognition, but not at that price. You could buy the exclusive rights to the next GTA for 100 million and save 2.4 billion and make a better profit off of T2. The rest of their catalog is hit or miss. Without GTA, Take2 is just another EA, a bunch of sequels. They need to come up with some more games that are guaranteed to make a nice profit.
