All of the people complaining about multiple disc need to just shut up. It has been a part of gaming in the past and no one complained. Plus you can just load the entire game onto your hard drive. Stop whining because Sony told you it was a problem. Keep being peoples pawn and you will have a totally unsatisfying life. Frickin' idiots.

That was funny. But a re-designed 360 would not necessarily use the same size drive. They could easily have the drive inside and use larger size and bring the cost down to no more than $150. They could also do an external unit for people with the current 360. Plus there are no limitations on the next Xbox either. Drives of that size would negate the need for a new disc format also if the include the drive in every Xbox in the next generation.

I could have sworn Kaz said that DD wouldn't arrive for ten years. Funny what losing a ton of money can do to the mind. It leads you away from your failing greed based formats(Blu-ray and UMD), toward the far more lucrative DD. And don't worry Sony, judging from N4G, the fanboys will follow where ever you lead.

@D4RkNIKON

I'm not sure pointing out facts is whining.

Maybe so that you can stop streaming off your computer. Lots of people rent movies. Lots of us rent from Netflix. Netflix allows it's users to stream to their 360 for free so I'm not sure where they would be getting extra money out of us.

If it's not something you want, just don't buy it. I guess you have a PS3. Doesn't the PS3 have Blu-ray built in? I guess don't want people to use that for movies either. Actually, not many are anyway.

They had separate teams for COD4. The DLC was was most likely at a cost to MS. And while the PS3 has faster RAM, the 360 has access to more RAM. The 512 in the 360 is shared so the GPU can use what the CPU isn't using. The PS3 can't do that. The 360 also has 10MB of RAM on the GPU die that the CPU can access for things it needs on a regular basis. Those are some of the things that make the 360 version frame rate more consistent. Blame Sony's design, not IW.

People should spend as much time buying games as they do blindly supporting consoles on forums. With larger install bases far more developers will survive. The more hate, the more fracturing and the fewer developers. Their is no fanboy for any company that can honestly claim there is no game from the competing consoles that they don't like. If you buy one console for just a few games, then be willing to buy the others.

They need to put out better games? They are the biggest and most profitable developer in the business. They must be putting out something people like. This is just Sony's mistakes coming back to haunt them. Activision won't leave Sony. But they might be trying to get concessions from them. Something like cutting the royalties in half.

Notice he mentioned the 500 million they paid Sony in royalties. If Sony were to knock off even 100 million of that cost, it makes for a better de...

Releasing a 360 with Natal built in would help offset the cost. They could also take the opportunity to improve the console a little. Add RAM, maybe used the rumored Valhalla chip. Maybe even make that chip so that the GPU can assist the CPU. And add a little more on-board memory to the GPU. The games would still work on the old 360s so everyone would be happy. And they could still provide Natal for a reasonable price for the owners of the old 360. 3DV systems said their setup would be as che...

I definitely forgot the 3 zeros. But you get my point. 40,000 a month was while Singular was implying Blu-ray sales were doing better than DVD at the same point. Sony was claiming sales were up some ridiculous percentage. The reality is that Blu-ray was not selling that well. But people still believe that Sony and others that say it's successful are being truthful when the facts don't support it. When they are unwilling to release real numbers and prefer to push percentages. It has far better...

The problem with the NDP numbers is that 400,000 is up 72% over last year. That means last year that Blu-ray players sold just over 100,000 units. During that time, Sony claimed that Blu-ray was doing great. But less than 40 players a month is not great by any stretch of the imagination. The truth will eventually come out. If there was something to really talk about, Sony wouldn't be using estimates of future sales( and those estimates come from Sony or someone else the Blu-ray association hi...

The Wii was estimated to cost Nintendo $201 to make from the start. The PS3 was estimated at $840 for the 80Gb and the 360 $526 for the Pro. Sony and Microsoft were losing day one, while Nintendo was making money. Two and a half years in after several cost reductions the Wii is making even larger profits.

The cost to make consoles goes down about 33% each year according to iSupply(the industry leader for electronic cost estimates). If the norm held up, Nintendo should be spendin...

The Wii sells way more consoles than either of the others. In fact it outsold the two combined for a long time, and still comes very close today. The PS3 does sell well for it's price. Unfortunately that price causes Sony to lose money every time a PS3 gets sold. The Wii, on the other hand, has been making a profit on every console sold since day one.

Since the two launched, we have seen Nintendo pass Sony in total corporate value and total profit. At a higher price the Wii woul...

Maybe that makes your opinion a little biased when it comes to hardcore gaming. I have to admit ignoring the Wii for the most part, though I loved the Wii-mote concept from day it appeared at E3. But to say it appeals to the hardcore fan is a stretch. Maybe the hardcore Nintendo fan. The only thing I really hear about the Wii is whens the next Mario or Zelda game coming. You get some Metroid and then games like Mad World and Red Steel, but for the most part, it's all about Zelda. Not a fan of...

A price cut won't make a real difference for Nintendo. The hardcore gamers don't want a Wii. The non-gamers that Nintendo has been selling to all of this time now has more pressing expenses with this economy. And besides, Nintendo still sells between 800,000 and a million consoles a month. The WSJ is just trying to scare off investors that don't have enough sense to just pay attention to the profits. That's one of the reasons the economy stinks as it is. Fear based on articles and television ...

I don't believe that many people are willing to run out and buy a PS3 for just $50 less. If they really want to sell 13 million this year, it will take $100. Sales have been down this year and they won't reach 10 million again if there is no price-cut.

I'm sure Sony has some savings coming from re-negotiations on parts so they can bring the cost of the units down from the last estimates. And while dropping the price would cost them on the units, I believe they could make it up w...

Thanks for an actual reply that makes some sense. You're exactly right. It is just fanboys doing thirty post trying to make games bigger than they are. They holler about exclusives, even though Microsoft clearly has more. But as long as there are so many, people that don't know believe Sony actually has more exclusives. Most of them actually believe Sony makes far more money than Microsoft and the 360 will be discontinued soon. It's a shame that people are so gullible.

But Infam...

What ever. PS3 fanboys have been talking about that game for months. That the problem with Sony fanboys, all disagree, no buy. 360 titles sell. When you hear 360 owners talk about a title, that title sells. And it had a Uncharted beta key too. So tell me Raztad, what are the big exclusive titles coming to the PS3. I'm assuming Uncharted, FF 13, GT5 and Heavy Rain. Will you claim they weren't anticipated too if the sales aren't there?

You must have seven accounts. Because if 6 people agreed with you just saying nice, that's pitiful.

On topic though, much like Killzone, Infamous was one of those exclusives that was supposed to be a huge seller. UFC sold more than 5 times the number of copies. If this is what the big games do, Sony first party is wasting their money. I'm sure Sony is not happy with those numbers. And UFC had more time, but just one week. I'd love to know what Viva Pinata did in it's first week....

The $50 allows me to download a 180MB file in just over a minute. I thing that's worth it. But the fact that I got 13 months for $30 on sale makes it even better.

@Rigmaster I'm sure you don't have a 360 or Live, since apparently you can't afford two consoles if $50 is that big of a deal. But if any of your friends or family does, go to their homes and try it out. I don't need to lie. I have Live and 16Mbs Internet. Even with cheesy Comcast, downloads are extremely fast. Maybe PS...
