dcortz2027, I think she would then reply to you that you have a small line of bubbles.
That's why there's Kinect.
Games and porn work fine. Fighting games have boob physics. Boxing and MMA have ring girls. Who are not wearing '20's era swimsuits. The average gamer is in their 30's now. It's time to have parents do their jobs to keep their kids away from the material they deem inappropriate and allow the rest to censor themselves. If parents are too lazy to read the rating on a box, their kids are probably already screwed up since they are already neglected.

Just because gaming as a whole doesn't bleed millions doesn't mean you should be givng away hundreds of million a year. As long as the company as a whole is bleeding money, no one part of the company can afford to give money away. Sony lost almost 7 billion this past year. The 300 or so million given away on PSn would have been small but it would have helped.
Storm the 360 has live tv function. You believe they will remove it next gen. Not going to happen. MS tried to go directly to content holders but had to settle for using cable operators. MS will eventually get direct content. And they hired their own writers years ago for exclusive content.
Sony is kicking themselves in the a-- for not charging. They are a company struggling financially and have convinced one of their few profitable customer bases that they are owed free stuff. Running and securing such a large online service is expensive. Sony bleeds hundreds of millions a year to make PSN free. And it will be hard for them to change now even though they need too. Sony may have to bite the bullet and start charging. But that will lead to a revolt of sheep.

The reason gamers aren't taken seriously is because gaming doesn't actually destroy anything. Why are kids wasting their time blowing up fake buildings when they could be really destroying some other country for real like grown ups do.
No more kiddy drunkenness. Real adults get drunk and actually crash. Or cheat on their spouses. Adults get to abuse kids, not be them.
Eventually when you get to a high enough level you can run a grown up company that...
I don't think a game like Assassin's Creed can be called out for being milked when CoD, Mario and a couple of dozen other franchises are well into the double digits on iterations.
Or they disagree because you said something negative about the console they like even though what you said was true. Unfortunately that is the world we live in. I understand moving to more adult themes. But if you're looking for more "adult" behavior, you'll have a hard time finding that in the human race.
Animals do things that make little sense because of instinct. Humans do things that make little sense because we're stupid.
@hawkboi
Considering next generation consoles will most likely be able to record I believe this is too late too also. The next Xbox will surely be a cable box like the 360 but with the added function of recording games and live TV. This seems like a unnecessary expense. It would have been better a couple of years ago.
Poor Sikbeta,
Companies wish they could think like you. But reality kicks them in the nads and they realize they need to actually profit on the stuff they make. THQ just got kicked. Sony is getting kicked. Sega got kicked after the Dreamcast. Great games and profits need to go hand in hand. Unless a company can print it's own money. If not, you better be making a profit. Because without one, you won't be making great games for long.
We haven't seen the end of cutting edge technology. Blu-ray was the reason for the $600 price tag. They can make cutting edge for $400 easy. And be closer to a profit on day one, if not profitable. APUs and small die sizes make a huge difference in cost.
Gamer3000,
Sony can't show there 4th qtr in December because it ends in March. And MS has only had two qtrs for the year. Their year starts in July. Those are their financial quarters. So if they stated yearly totals it's for the calender year and both had four quarters.
A lot of companies refuse to release information that isn't favorable to them. They have good reason. Stock prices. If Sony were to release actual numbers on Blu-ray or Vita it would be trouble. But MS might not release numbers on something like Kin because they are too embarrassing.
No different than companies releasing info on cost to manufacture products. The 360 is cheap to make at this point. But MS will never say that because they would be pressured into a price cut...
Do you read anything besides game reviews?
Obviously not. Sony is a publicly traded company which means they publish quarterly and annual reports. So anyone that reads the business section of a newspaper, articles about corporations finances or those reports knows Sony has money problems.
kreate,
Sony didn't suddenly become broke. Howard Stringer warned company execs for years that they needed to make changes. They refused to listen to him. Sony hasn't made a profit company wide in over four years. And they have had losses in gaming since 2005. Development of the PS3 put them in a whole long ago. It has changed the last year or two for gaming. But there has been a shortage of money in the gaming section for sometime.
And despite what ...
Sony's problems go beyond sales. They are last in sales and last in profit this generation. And I know gamers don't care about the money part. But for Sony to remain a company they kinda need that.
MS has remained ahead despite the fact that their console doesn't really sell at all in one area. Japan is a huge market and Xbox doesn't sell there well. Plus the 360 outsold the PS3 last year worldwide despite not selling in Japan. And after a few years of a major...
GribbleGrunger,
the reason no one cares about Sony inching closer to the 360's lead is that it's so slowly that by the time it does it(and I don't believe it ever will), we will have been in the next generation for over a year. People have been talking about the PS3 catching up for 3 years now.
It's not happening.
CNET is owned by CBS. It has never been a part of MS.
There is nothing Nintendo can do for the Wii. There best bet is with the Wii U. And if the rumors are true and it is an average console, that will be a failure. I don't believe the rumors on it's power though. That would be incredibly stupid to go for anything other than a high end machine. They don't have to compete directly with the next Xbox and PS4. But they need to make something worth a developers time. ...
Cajun, it would also require Bethesda to make or license voice recognition tech. MS probably did all of the work since VR is a part of Kinect. No nuts needed.
