Odd that people are ignoring that one of the main things Kaz pointed out as a failing with Sony was taking advantage of all departments. That's why Gaming was merged into Electronics.

Sony, Microsoft, Apple, Google and all major electronics companies realize that you need to diversify to compete. Apple does i...

I think they are moving away from the NFL draft. I thought it was stupid to do it around that weekend anyway. If it has been pushed back. Most of the target audience will be watching the draft.

Sony hasn't said the specs are set. They said the exact opposite. And Microsoft hasn't said anything. So no one does know the final specs of either console.

The Sony statement about letting MS go first makes me believe they would make changes if the 720 proved to be more powerful. And there have been rumors of a lot of different parts on GPUs.

Here's an article where Jack Tretton says the PS4 pricing and specs aren't final.

Considering these next generation consoles are much easier to develop for and that would make a PC port easy next generation versions should be a given.

It's funny to read comments about why people care about the amount of money a game or company makes. I wish N4G would put together the comments of those people that seem to believe it doesn't matter with any comments that they made about their sadness that a developer is going out of business or a game is being cancelled. Just to see if they ever make the connection.

Lack of profit is why Zipper doesn't exist anymore. I know people just want great games. It's...

@Captain Qwark 9

Thank for pointing out that the 3.4 number was a projection and not sales. I never really read the articles about this so I didn't realize that. I will say that having specific numbers in mind is a crap shoot anyway. You want games to sell, but 3.4 was unrealistic.

If it sold only 1.4 million copies(I assume digital wasn't included, so you might be able to add a couple of hundred thousand more)it makes a little more sense. A lot of t...

I agree with edonus. The people that are calling this thing over are Sony fans or crowd followers mostly. Or they are trying to generate hits for their sites because gamers are such easy marks. Microsoft has said nothing and shown nothing. But so many believe they have lost. Based on leaked specs that may or may not be real. Also based on the belief that someone not working with the equipment actually knows what the specs mean.

@Money,

Nvidia has a good amount of revenue. But they aren't a Microsoft or Apple. 500 million is a lot of money for them. Even spread out over 7 years. I'm not sure Nvidia has ever reached a billion in profits, so 70 million a year is a big part of their profits. I actually looked on Market Watch and Nvidia actually had two years of losses over the last five. And their best year shows a 581.09 profit. 500 million is a lot of income. All of their talk is sour grapes. ...

Yeah. EA is a dumb company. They seem to constantly piss off their fans. But you're absolutely right. Their are banks and financial companies that are a million times worse than EA.

I'm so tired of hearing that consoles are holding back PC gaming. Developers will make games where there is money to be made. If they made money pushing graphics as far as they could go on PC they would do it. But they don't because the money made on consoles is too good to pass up. If PC gamers really want developers to push the over-priced hardware they need to demand that they do it. There are plenty of PC exclusives, Push those to the limits.

The people that really need to know what Microsoft is doing now actually already know. They are the developers. They've probably known for a few years now. Because they have been developing the games for a while. No matter how maddening the press feels it is not to know, they don't matter. They need to develop a real talent that allows them to come up with topics for articles and stop waiting for someone else to do their jobs for them.

Or they can go back to what the...

I'm sure there was never a plan to have those games take over 5 years to launch. Both took that long from the original announcements. That is delayed. Half life has yet to happen. If that isn't a delay, take PDZ and Too Human off the list. In fact, unless a release date was announced, there is no list.

You can add KZ3 and GT5. I think Killzone 3 was in development for about 5 years. GT close to that. Half-life 3 has been talked about forever.

Some will wait. But most won't. There isn't a popular product out there that people wait on. When the next CoD releases people will buy it. All of the boycott and wait talk is just that. The reality is that any good game is only $5 cheaper used. Any unpopular game will quickly drop in price because it doesn't sell. The few people that won't buy because of blocks will be off set by the people who now have no choice. And far more will buy new than won...

I'm not sure why AMD is considered desperate. They took a different direction on the same route everyone else is taking. And from the looks of it they are going to be the first to get to the destination. Just because they appeared to be losing the race, it doesn't matter. It a long race.

I'm not sure what insomniac is worth, but what makes anyone think Sony can afford to buy them. Sony is selling assets and closing studios. They already have the rights to R & C. Why would they buy the company if they could afford to?

AMD is bleeding money now. But they have several APUs coming out that are better than anything else out there for tablets. They will corner the fastest growing part of the PC space. Phones should soon follow. Once people see what their APUs are capable of on the consoles with optimized software and they make their APUs work with discreet GPUs it will be game over.

This is more proof that Nvidia didn't let AMD have anything when it comes to providing GPUs for the consoles. They lost and are lashing out. And they know that AMDs tablet solutions are better than anything they have to offer also. That would strangle Tegra 4 in it's crib. Nvidia may be doing well right now, but the times they are a changing.

Blacktar,

Such a small percentage of games makes no difference. It's not like you are assured of missing anything that you really want. There are few PS3 exclusives that I would have wanted. Most of that 5% are games that barely sold. I refuse to buy a console for $600 for a handful of games. The majority of the games I play are multi-platform. In fact the only game on the PS3 or coming to it that I would have any real interest in is Beyond. GT5 with more realistic damage...

The author seems to completely ignore the coming AMD chips. They should be more capable than anything ARM or Intel has in the tablet market. Once Temash releases AMD should start taking a large share of the tablet market and by this time next year should be the best selling tablet chip. While some people are satisfied running basic programs on tablets, Temash allows full Windows 8 and 1080p gaming while still having a good battery life. All AMD needs is a little more time. If they make throug...
