There is still the chance that some games will be blocked. CoD would consider the millions of copies sold used and their ability to add value over the year to make people keep the game. If the cost of DLC to them is outweighed by the additional sales because used games are blocked, they might block used copies of CoD. Since a huge part of CoD's audience is more causal in the "only major titles" sense, their customers are less likely to sell anyway. The number of people turned of...
Very good article. The subject transcends gaming and has become a problem in society in general. In gaming the problem seems insignificant until the attitudes grow and spread to the gamers adult life. Or there regular life for older gamers. Not that gaming is the cause because the problem is evident everywhere. It's the "Keep your government hands off of my Medicare" mentality. People so caught up in "their" cause without realizing that they are being manipulated for s...
Cueil this probably did come out of E&Ds R&D budget. But their budget for that division is over 1.5 billion so I'm sure it didn't hurt them. And I'm sure there is plenty left over for games if they thought they had something worth making.
@elhebbo16
If you think that than you aren't comprehending what I wrote. You get agreements from fanboys. Or others that don't comprehend either. My mention of the 720's ability is clearly in reference to peoples ability to ignore things we know are true because they don't fit what they want to be true.
The leak from last Summer that showed a system design with a BC chip, a systems APU and a gaming APU was confirmed by MS as an internal docume...

Now that makes sense. No fanboy reasoning. Good old fashion common sense. No need to use sheep think to try to rationalize it.
@josephayal
That is a comment I can respect. Again, no fanboy reasoning. Just pure personal preference without fanboy made up reasons. You should have written the article. You used your own opinion.
@Rottenspacehead
Same for you. You have a specific reason that is unique to you...
You seem like a complete fanboy. Which automatically means butthurt.
@MariaHelFutura
So calling out dumb articles makes you a psychopath. Maybe in your delusional word. Take your Ritalin and a nap.
Nvidia and Intel are in about to take a fall. Nobody wants Tegra 4. And AMD has a chip that will dominate the tablet market in the near future. Full blown Windows on a $500 tablet. Nvidia has nothing for that until Tegra 5 is that works out. And Haswell will still be lacking if the Jaguar has the HSA features it should. The consoles should prove that the software will make a huge difference for APUs. Once they show that, everyone else is in trouble.
Way to go Majin-vegeta. Typical sheep move. Read Galactic's comment, huh. You're the start of the string of people who will say I'm angry. Rooooaaarrrr! I'm mad.
I'm not mad. I'm just encouraging the author to A, develop an opinion of their own. Exclusives, PSN + value. Typical fanboy arguments. Windows 8 bad? In what way? Metro? A blown out of proportion sheep movement. Windows 8 was an improvement over 7. Let the GUI thing go.

I think this will be an excellent test for how much exclusives matter. If MS were to buy a three month headstart on next generation consoles(plausible with low installs), would it give them a headstart on console sales? Looking at this generation it seems it would. I believe CoD is on the way down. But if you look at current gen numbers and take into account all of the broken Xboxes, CoD sells much better on the 360. RRoD killed at least ten million 360s permanently. If they are even in total...
Oh, God. Another dumb ass fanboy piece of crap article. Yes, yes it's all about "teh" exclusives. Sharing my gameplay is all the rage. Really? How many actually use YouTube now. I bet most don't. Not because it's hard. But because outside of sharing an occasional clip with a friend, no one cares. I too am hoping for a huge leap. But let's stop calling it before the consoles launch. I remember a lot of unrealized target videos. Forget Killzone. Remember the Madden. An...
Can't hate on a guy for being passionate. But while I understand he often under-delivers, Peter Molyneux is the same way. And he gets blasted. It's not his fault that the consoles aren't ready for what he wants to do. I hope he had a lot of influence on what MS does with the next Xbox.
The problem for Intel is that AMD is moving into the low-end market with their APUs and Nvidia is making Tegra better with CUDA in Tegra 5. They may be getting better but the competition is getting better than their better.
I also wonder why he said computer games.
"Just give me what I’ve paid my £299 for, and that is to play amazing, incredible computer games.”
There were rumors that the Windows 8 store would be accessible through the Xbox. Add that to the Fusion name rumors and it running on Windows RT or Windows 8 right now and that would make sense. If it is running on regular Windows 8 now and the games are being developed on that OS, then the final build must be...
The idea that consoles are for games is silly. It's not like the movies or music or even apps take away from the games. For that to be the case JJ Abrams would have to be making games in between movies. He's not. The additional features are just a part of the machine. They have zero effect on what the console can and can't do for gaming. Especially next generation where the hardware will be completely separate.
Gamers need to learn to appreciate all of the other ...
This doesn't surprise me. I think people are used to trashy American executives that lay people off while still taking bonuses. On top of that American executive salaries are far higher than executives in most of the world. Even their decisions have led the company to major loses they still demand their bonuses.
Japanese executives don't make nearly what American executives so this really hits them hard considering the cost of living in Japan. They show real class wi...
Another possibility is that it will be a sort of dual machine where it can play console and PC games. That would really be the move. There are a lot of PC RTS' I would like to get.
Galactic you have to understand that some people spend more on their children than others. I don't think this will be huge because of the projector. But if MS can partner with a manufacturer to make a cheap stripped down projector geared toward this for a couple of hundred, they might have something.
Fire, you might be onto something. It's also possible it could refer to having two APUs with different CPUs working together. MS has been working on making different types of systems work together. This may be a combination of an ARM, Power and/or x86 architecture APUs working seamlessly together.
Bubbles.
I guess there really isn't a reason to complain though. It's not a always on article.
Mika,
There is no doubt people need to start thinking more realistically. But the gaming industry is fine. One of the major things that drives sales is new hardware. We are in the longest generation ever. It has been far too long. There is nothing in entertainment that can compete with the gaming industry right now. Not movies or music. Once the next consoles release, the sales will pick up again. And if there are deals that subsidize the purchase of the console early sales w...
