Actually the Ars article says that certain things can work. This that don't have to be updated every frame. So like Cueil says, I trust Ars over any game journalist. From Eurogamer, who thinks it won't work to any other game sight. This technology has been in use for awhile, I'm sure it won't suddenly stop working because Microsoft wants to use it. Or improve it.
If the PS4 isn't designed to use Cloud compute Gaikai doesn't make a difference. They would have to re-do the OS. But since no one is doing this right now you have to assume this is proprietary technology and it may be years before Sony develops their own method.
I also believe part of MSs plan is to use the Cloud computing to allow other devices to play One games. Xbox Surface and Windows phones. Or maybe just anyone's tablet or phone.
Monkey Sony will have many of the same issues so you might be stuck in the current generation. Don't believe only one will block used games.
Stuna1 I'm saying the complaints are coming from a very, very small group of people who reside inside another small group. Hardcore gamers have a fringe group inside of them. Hardcore gamer represent maybe 25% of the people who buy a console(just throwing numbers out there). The people complaining make-up maybe 10% of the hardcore gamer group. And they are pure Sony fanboys or delusional gullible people that believe anything they read on the Internet. They all date a French model.

This may be another example that proves that all of the fuss is coming from a vocal minority. It's the same group of people that disagree with anything that doesn't say Sony is great and makes EA the worse company in the world despite Monsanto, JP Morgan, CitiGroup and Bank of America being around. Fairchild I got news for you. Every company spends a ton of their revenue each year trying to figure out what you spend on. Including MS and Sony. Facebook, Google. All companies. Actually it's not a bad idea. Companies pay billions a year to companies like Nielsen and others for estimates. If MS can provide hard numbers they would have an advantage. Plus with Nielsen, the sample size is very small. With a system like this on One it would be very accurate and also focus on the 13 to 35(45) demographic that advertisers crave. Knoll the assumption or rumors that Sony has a better OS was based on early versions of MSs OS. It is said to have gotten better with each version. Both companies are making modifications to the GPUs. MS added ESRAM and added the move engines. I'm sure Sony has done some things too. Neither GPU according to the specs fits exactly in with anything AMD sells.
