Extremely poor headline. This has nothing to do with next gen. This is an Nvidia 680 card which is a current card that will actually be replaced soon. Plus it's PhysX which is Nvidia only. None of the console will use Nvidia.

I doubt if the rumors are a problem. I believe they know they have a better machine so it doesn't worry them. I think some of the features are just coming together and they wanted to wait for things to fall in place. They did a similar show for the 360. I can't remember how close it was to E3. But someone recently told me it was within a week or two. Pretty much the same as this.

The amount of money needed to make that happen would be counter productive. Something that sells 10 million copies on PS will require millions and millions to make exclusive. Exclusivity has to start when a game is unproven.
