HyperBear you were kidding about the MS only making a profit on gaming and Windows right? You do realize that have several other divisions that make over a billion a quarter? Despite their problems with hardware other than Xbox, they pretty much clean up with everything else.
Nobody knows if there will be multiple SKUs. We'll have to wait on that. Both will use the same size harddrive most likely so those prices will be pretty much even and network adapters are actually only a few dollars. Since networking is already in the system, it won't add much to the price. Both consoles should come in at $399. Both will also be sold at a profit day one.

Maybe publishers and console makers can make Gamestop buy a license to have their used copies receiver support. Or maybe Gamestop can pay the publisher to get updates and DLC. Or maybe Gamestop can put together their own support system and run their own servers to do those things. You would think with all of that free money they are making they could at least do that.
The money's too large to make Fallout exclusive. That may work on new IP but it's expensive for proven IP. A better idea is the exclusive content route on proven IP. But I believe the practice of buying exclusive content after you've had a chance to see it is far smarter than buying a bunch of studios and taking on all of the risk of them creating new games that continue to sell millions of copies.
If you pay 100 million for a studio and they make a bunch of game...
And Sony has said publishers can block used games. I doubt publishers of the major franchises will not block their games. CoD would sell several million more copies with used games blocked.

They were rumors. Things others take as fact that may never actually occur. I do think this will eventually happen though. A small box with no disc drive. Use the drive in the One to verify you own the game and then download a digital copy from Live to the small box.

Actually I read about Sony wanting to own the IP from a article. I think owning the IP is asking way too much. If you both make money, Sony should be satisfied. You can't have it all. The IP is all a small company has. Sony has plenty of their own.
