I'm actually struggling to make sense of what Activision are doing here to be honest. Its not like the PS3 in the UK is like what the 360 is in Japan, and its not as if Tony Hawks isn't popular here in the UK, because it is.

Very strange indeed

To be completely honest and non-fanboy about the issue, it shouldn't really be a suprise. Halo is probably the biggest name (console wise anyway) in the FPS genre. Its also on a console that has more units out there, and the game is pretty darn cheap now, so new users are likely to invest in it. I know many stores in the UK now have it in non-official bundles that they sell, because of the games retail value.

Killzones sales are still very good aswell, although i highly doub...

I remember getting a Sega 32X for christmas one year, with Virtua Fighter, Virtua Racing Deluxe, Star Wars Arcade and Doom. Probably the biggest waste of money ever. People should thank their lucky stars that we find ourselves with 3 machines out there now that are great in their own ways, and not a waste of space like the 32x was

Thats the reason why i avoid Nokias like the plague. I hate the random switching off and i won;t even go on about the 4 Nokia N73's i had in the space of 3 months due to some features of the operating system not working properly (and with me being quite arsey on each occassion i visited Carphone Warehouse to sort the problem, they just kept giving me a new phone, letting me keep the other broken one. Idiots! Although i made a tidy sum thanks to Ebay)

Don't get me wrong, i've ...

Shame in a way, one of the best phones i ever owned was a C900. Infact, the majority of Sony phones beat the likes of the rather cheap plastic Nokia phones that break far too easily

I don't think there would be much point putting it on the PS2 then porting it upwards

;)

Is it me, or does anyone actually find the bit where they (THQ) even mention they are struggling with the PS3 version? I can see the bit where they say it works slightly differently, but i dont find the words 'struggle', 'inferior' or anything in their. And how exactly did Gamezine manage to notice all the drops and increases in framerate, unless they were using an extremely early build of the game, and the framerate, along with other processing information, is given on-screen (although tha...

I visited my first Gamestop last week on my recent trip to the USA, thought it was miles better than the crap Gamestation and even crapper Game that we have in the UK. Can't remember the last time i went into either store, much prefer going into CEX now, and shopto.net is a godsend

I'll admit now i'm not a huge fan of Halo, although i aint a huge FPS fan in general, and have only really enjoyed Unreal 2004, Killzone 2 and COD4 to any real degree. Still, it'll be interesting to see what Microsoft can do with the series, and whether it can push it to the levels that Bungie did. MS will certainly have their work cut out, thats for sure

I still think Sony need to drastically look at their marketing division in SCE. Whilst its improving, its been a major letdown, and a contributing factor in why they are in the position they find themselves with the PS3.

Still, good to see they are on the right track anyway

And let me guess, the perfect little Xbox 360 with its big dildo attachment you enjoy so much has never had network errors, or even RRoD? I think someones trying a little too hard in being all Big Mr Nasty against the big bad PS3.

Seriously, try being a gamer without being an ass mate, its much more enjoyable. And as others state, if you don't like the PS3, why bother owning one? I think the Wii is more evil than, well, something really evil, but i didn't go out and buy one....

Hmmm...i don't know whats more disturbing, the fact your think that Xbox Live is a 'premium service' or that you actually did a dump in the toilet and took a picture of it to show people on the internet.

Very, very disturbing individual either way, and i'm yet to hear any actual common sense or rationalising from your posts yet.

Ah well, might aswell go back to my little homeless shelter along with my Xbox 360 and more expensive PS3, afterall, PS3 is only for hom...

Call of Duty 4 is also well over a year old now, so has had plenty of time to gain the numbers in sales that it has. It also had several games come before it which were very successful, so its fanbase was already in place, and the awards it won obviously helped to propel it further into peoples minds, particularly those who knew very little about it.

Its rather harsh to compare one of the biggest FPS games in history to one thats a month old, particularly from a sales perspect...

I can see the arguements both for and against dropping the price. Personally, if i was at the top of SCE, i'd wait til E3, and announce a drop there. As much as the Playstation 3 is value for money, many people simply do not have that kind of cash at the moment. To drop the price at E3 would have a very positive impact. By how much? Unsure, you wouldn't want to drop it too much without it coming across like its a fire sale, however, you want to drop it enough to give people real food for...

...It probably would have, for a two reasons

1) Bigger install base in key markets. Killzone 2 was hardly going to set the world alight in Japan, were the Playstation 3 is doing moderately well, but were it would do is the U.S. Sadly, the Playstation 3 is quite a distance behind the Xbox 360 install base in the USA, and given the Americans seem to adore FPS games going off sales of key titles, then i would have expected Killzone 2 to sell more on the 360. Agian, as i stated...

One being better than the other, at least when it comes to an online aspect and better sales of games, can be argued all day long from both parties. It doesn't take a genious to work out that if console A has a larger install base, then that particular console has the potential to sell more games on that system. However, results have been mixed in games sales, some games have sold better on the 360, some on the PS3, majority have been pretty much 50/50 when looking worldwide, but again, giv...

In Regards to Resident Evil 5, is that before or after the 360 version suffers with a large amount of screen tearing?

I dont see it being too much of a problem to be honest. Doesn't make it a bad game because i can't play it with a mate. It didn't stop Bioshock being one of the best games this generation, and that didn't have any multiplayer

I'm 50/50 when it comes to liking the Wii, but one thing that really annoys me is that while people will argue about whether the 360/PS3 are value for money (given that, up until lately, both were sold at a loss to their respective companies) the Wii has been making Ninendo a tidy profit since day one i believe, and is now making even more money per unit sold, yet they keep the price the same (or raise it in some places) and they get away with it.

Yes, its great for Nintendo th...
