I don't get why they don't do that. There's plenty of indies that are inspired by Zelda and are really successful.
Actually manufacturing more will cost them more money in shipping and in keeping them on shelves.
No shit Nintendo will have more units manufactured in november when the console has been out for 8 months and is easier/cheaper to manufacture. The wii didn't have "fake demand" if it did it wouldn't have sold over 100 million units.
Actually the ps4 had less units than the switch for the first month and the ps4 was pretty hard to find after the launch.
The wiiu was never selling out like crazy. I live in ny where everything sells out and you could walk into any store and find a lot of wiiu's in stock. For some reason people on this site don't understand that 2.74 million consoles at launch month is a lot of consoles. It's 600,000 more than what the ps4/x1 had their first month. Console makers are not going to ship 5 - 6 million consoles in the first month because 1) The console manufacturing is at its most expensive price 2) The...
Because if they don't sell a product they won't make money. And Nintendo makes a shit load of money, they aren't hurting at all financially. If Nintendo was doing this short stock thing then their wouldn't be almost 3 million units available at launch, which by the way is more than what the ps4/x1 had launch month.
This is one of the dumbest fucking comments ever on this site. Yes a company that wants to make money will decide not to manufacture their brand new console that they just released in order to make money. That's just stupid. How would a company make money if they don't sell their product?
It's about $45 per unit.
Actually if you read the information and considered the number of consoles they shipped the first month, it isn't reasonable.
Maybe because it's pretty stupid to believe a company is creating artificial demand when they ship nearly 3 million consoles the first month of its availability. That's 600,000 consoles more than the ps4/x1. If you think a console manufacturer is going to ship 4 - 5 million consoles when manufacturing is at its highest price and they don't know if the console will be a hit, then you really don't know anything about business. The return on shipping that many consoles in the fir...
I don't preorder games at all. Too many games that are hyped up end up not being worth it.
Didn't sony do the same thing with the last of us?
When you played arms did you get a powerstone type of feel from it? The videos of the gameplay remind me of powerstone.
I think region locking might be a firmware thing.
I don't see the ps4 getting to that price until a few years into the ps5.
@thisismyaccount
The switch sales numbers are for march only we don't know how many they sold in April yet. The 2.76 million is for march.
I don't think the scorpio will effect the sales of the ps4 in any way. If the switch continues to be successful I could see it eating into some of the ps4 sales. The DS might be the last 150 million console for a long time though. I don't see anything beating either the ps2 or ds right now.
I still can't believe that so many companies gave Evolve game of the show. That game was such a shit show.
There's actually millions of people that still play this game and it still makes a shit load of money. I never really cared for it but people still like it.
I think they hit the right niche with this console. They are targeting the young adults that have money and not a lot of time to be sitting in front of a tv playing games. To me that is a much better audience to target than children are.
