But I went through R2 in about 12 hours so it isn't that far off. Although I didn't play through in one sitting it was still only a 12 hour single player campaign. Could it have been longer? Maybe a couple of hours but anything more would have made the game more of a chore. Think of things this way as well. 12 hours for R2 = $5 for an hour of solo play. 10 hours or gears = $6 for an hour of solo play. In any case it is still a good deal. Plus you have the online multiplayer which adds...
Lvl 30 Medic!? Damn you been puttin some time in. Granted Medic is a XP sponge with heals and that damned Phoenix BUT still lvl 30 is impressive! Almost got my Spec. Ops. to lvl. 14 and all I am loving it. Invisibility + Proximity mines = carnage ooh and toss in the Fareye for some headshot love...
After 5x failures why do you continue to support and purchase software/hardware from Microsoft? If you had experienced multiple failures like that on an automobile would you continue to buy from that manufacturer? What is it that compels you to go through the hassles knowing that in the end it will fail AGAIN? It just boggles my mind. IF I had similar experiences with Sony and the PS1/2/3 I would no longer be purchasing a console from them.
What I don't understand is that after repeated failures, 3x or 4x, people still go through the hassles, stress and headache for the XBox 360. I personally do not understand the blind and almost fanatical loyalty to a company/product which has failed most at least twice if not more. What would possess someone to be continually taken advantage of and abused in this manner? Furthermore why do they continue to use and purchase products from the same company who has failed them on so many occas...
For once a nice little article about the Cell. What was truly amazing was that using only ONE SPE it was approx. 25% faster than a 2.4 Ghz Dual Core2 Duo. Granted the original Cell doesn't have the best double precision FP performance but I can live with that. The PowerXCell 8i, which powers the Roadrunner supecomputer, has the double precision stuff pretty well handled. The new Cell 2 which is going to be a 2x PPE/32 SPE unit is going to have the PowerXCell 8i's floating point prowess an...
Oooh good. So when it comes to PC I can run it on Linux using WINE and it will no longer be exclusive to MS platforms! WOOT!! Open Source FTW!
"R2 Online = Filth"
That's the funniest thing a bot has said in a LONG time. R2 right now sets the standard for online play in a FPS on consoles. Everything from 8 man co-op to 60 man competitive. The controls are tight, fast action, smooth and brutal. But then again I can see why a XBot would have a problem with it. Seeing that taking on only 5 opponents at a time in 2 player co-op is "challenging" to them. kthxbye.
Have you noticed that in R2, particularly the single player campaign, that the Chimera AI is absolutely brutal at times? Compared to R1 these 6 eyed buggers are far more aggressive and smarter, especially with taking cover, flanking and overall aggression.
"Its a shame Valve are Daft idiots that don't want to support the PS3"
Well at least one thing remains the same in the world.
What do you mean, become?
Hey some people don't get it I guess. They should have localized a version for France. Included little wine bottles, some cheeses and maybe some of them funny little hats they wear. Ooooh and mimes... lots of mimes!
He probably has multiple accounts and bubbles himself up.
Not a bad review. Honest but scores a little lower than I would give it. In any case still better than the thrashing IGN gave it.
Roll out the "Ban Wagon" for this one.
Another honest review... look at that? Who woulda thunk it?
he opens his mouth he just digs a deeper hole.
Yep that sounds like Micro$oft, always got their hand in your pocket, making u pay out the ass for useless sh!t for a useless system.
Fixed.
kthxbye
Yes they do make TVs, Car Stereos and Home Theatre systems. They are priced accordingly and not near premium priced. Sure you can get a comparably sized Westinghouse or Vizio LCD TV and you get a lesser quality unit with a lower contrast ratio, faded blacks and a lower max viewing angle. You got a free webcam when you bought a PC and? Did the PC cost $399? You are not making a point as much as you are all over Sony for charging a fair price for their products. You just mentioned a $100 6...
Ooh I read the article and that's what I got out of it. It points out, in the first paragraph, that some games cannot be played to their full potential without those accesories. It then goes on to mention the cost of said accessories. Finally, while giving the headset some kudos and the webcam none the article closes saying that Sony is charging a "premium" for these products. I dare say a PREMIUM would be twice that of the competiton which Apple does for its' Powerbook Pro, iMa...
can co-exist with hardcore games but in no way kill hardcore games. Think of it this way. If casual games were to kill off hardcore games than there will be a lot less gamers around. 17m (PS3) + 22m (360) = 39m less gamers. Which is more than the Wii has sold so far. Granted I am sure that there would be a percentage of those that would get a Wii for the sake of playing some kind of game. The others would either game on a PC or just find some other form of entertainment.
